Btw, the Hungarian broadcaster is VERY committed to this European Games, probably more so than the Polish broadcaster. I mean, the fencing broadcast is a literal stationary webcam, and M4 Sport still airing it live on TV. This must the worst sport broadcast on Hungarian television in a very long time, probably the worst in the 21st century, but they still want to show our athletes. You can bet that the broadcast would be 10 times better if it was in the hands of MTVA, but obviously we don't want to host it. They just asked the Hungarian Olympic Committee about it and they said that EOC was interested in bringing the European Games to Budapest, but it's clearly not on the table for us.

Luana Márton is the real deal, that Worlds gold medal wasn't fluke. Final at the European Games at the age of 17, right after a World Championships gold medal. The Márton sisters are more Spanish than Hungarian, they were born there and also live there. We are lucky that they choose Hungary over Spain, hopefully we won't lose them like we did the Liu brothers in short track, I am sure Spain will lurk in the background to get them.

Two semi-finals for us today in taekwondo. I still can't believe that suddenly we are competitive in this sport, I feel like it happened out of nowhere in the last few years. Taekwondo skyrocketed into being the third/fourth strongest combat sport for Hungary behind fencing and wrestling, it might be on par with our judo in terms of Olympic medal chance.

I won't be able to watch the SF today, good news for my nerves. Anything above the 4th place would just be a bonus for us anyway at this point. Meanwhile v for the OQT spot is a close call so far.

Finally a gold medal for us in Canoe Sprint. Varga is our strongest athlete at the moment on the world stage in any sport, it's crazy that we got both him and Kopasz for basically the same events (which is why you won't see Kopasz here and at the Worlds).

Finally something to be happy about in Canoe, Gazsó with a very promising silver medal for us in women's K1. There's still hope of success for Hungary in women's kayak this year.
