  1. Hopefully they will change the apparatuses. I don't think both the men and women should compete in floor just so we can have some variety. I'd rather have PH, PB, HB for men and UB, BB, FE for women.
  2. Here's the event program. The only thing left to confirm is which weightlifting weightclasses will be held
  3. Snowboarding has slipped, but is being compensated by Short Track. As a fan of Short Track I know you should never trust them. The randomness gives, but also takes.
  4. Literally winning while doing nothing While I'm okay with the point freeze, they should be hidden from the rankings until the tournament after they return.
  5. At this rate might be top 2 in Europe.
  6. China will only get 7 medals this time, down from 12 in 2023.
  7. Yeah, the raw talent of those players may be enough to outweigh the nuance skills and strategy for flag football. I guess we'll see how a team like Nigeria will perform. American Samoa might be a team to watch, but Australia is also a good team and with six spots available they may not be able to squeeze in. Interestingly enough, even though the NFL has agreed to release their players there's a restriction of one American and one international player per team. I wonder if that will cause some competition (particular for the international roster spot).
  8. I'd make the comparison between rugby union and sevens, but even more different. Some NFL players would probably be good at flag football, but the skill set is different.
  9. Ahh... that 6 year period where and swapped spots with each other. Between 2009 and 2017, the promoted teams would be regulated in the next tournament. It was in 2018 when survived for a second consecutive tournament.
  10. You're right, I keep forgetting about the loser's point.
  11. At the very least, the Netherlands Judo Federation is doing a horrible job in educating their athletes
  12. v is a regulation game, whoever loses is regulated. Additionally, needs to at least win in order to survive (preferentially during regulation). If they lose against they will be regulated. The great thing is the final quarterfinal spot in both groups will be decided in a head to head match on Tuesday; v and v will decide who advances (the later may have to be a regulation win if Germany beats Czechia tomorrow).
  13. Given their (and the women's) performance at the USA Sevens I wouldn't be surprised if it was already known among players prior to that event. While disappointed, I am not surprised. Ireland never did like the sevens format (they didn't even have a program until it was added to the Olympics) and it is expensive to maintain given revenue is a lot smaller.
  14. Pretty good, we qualified in all events to the World Championships except for the men's 4x400m relay, which we did not compete in.
  15. Slovakia proving to be the better "Slov**ia" nation
  16. FIFA is probably scared of match fixing between teams, no way they will just let one team sit idly while the other two play.
  17. It's a bit tough when you have such a large range of weights. Perhaps you can reduce the top end back down to 102kg, but you'd still have 65, 77, 89, 102, +102 as your events and that's with ignoring that Asia will not like the fact that the lowest weight is so high.
  18. What's more impressive is that this was Canada's debut in the sport.
  19. Why are they trying to kill the sport?
  20. He's trying to frame it in a way that this was a success. In the end, he received a higher percentage of votes in the party's history (post merger) and the second highest seat count. He also brought in loyalist into parliament. Of course, it's quite likely the Conservatives will win next time so thirst for power might prevail.
  21. The Conservative leader has lost his seat. He will either run in a different riding in a by-election (requires someone to resign and it could take up to 8 months) or the party will remove him. Lots of drama still to come I feel.
  22. Looks like it'll be another minority government
  23. Honestly, no matter the result, that was a crazy turn around. The Liberals were looking at a repeat of 2011. Truly the "natural governing" party. One thing the Conservatives should take as a learning experience is make sure you tie the wrongdoings to the party instead of the individual. The Conservatives did a good job at getting the public to turn on Trudeau, but once he was gone we were still fine with the Liberals and didn't particularly like the Conservative leader.
  24. Likely because they couldn't afford to go to the qualifier. Huge shame.
