    Strangely enough, like many sports, Britain invented race walking as a sport, and it was hugely popular in the 19th Century. We still were winning medals up until the 1960s. Unfortunately now people in Britain don’t like it because the governing body cannot consistently enforce the sports’ own definition of what walking is.

    Well, didn’t think we’d see mid-ranking teams making up second-run ground, but Sics & Sics are doing exactly that.... Oi, huge crash for the Americans. Phew, they walk away.

    I was joking a bit, but I think they’ll win this one. Women later will be different, though. Looks like an exciting open year for them.

    Nice and frosty in Lake Placid, should be less unpredictable than last week. ie the Germans will win everything. Lot fewer competitors, though, not every can afford it.
