  1. Well, this Lebanese girl is going to keep the scorers from getting an early coffee break.
  2. Impressive. Three guys in the team, but only two vowels.
  3. Yesterday: Mathieu van der Poel took the first stage of UAE Tour. Today: Alpecin team member tests C19 positive: he & the rest of Alpecin-Fenix leave the race. Obviously whatever its virtues as a shampoo, Alpecin is not an anti-bacterial. Well, unless the team member was bald. https://www.velonews.com/news/vn-news-ticker-mathieu-van-der-poel-and-alpecin-fenix-out-of-uae-tour-after-covid-positive/
  4. It’s not so much that Norway are dominant, it’s that Russia & Germany are average now.
  5. Took my poor tired old brain about 90 seconds to work that one out.
  6. Looks like the Lands Between Latvia And The Sea of Okhotsk are heading for their first medal.
  7. And he did it two years in a row, as I remember. Think he had to retire, was a heart issue.
  8. The day Holdener wins a slalom is the day the Earth is destroyed by an asteroid strike before the medal ceremony.
  9. Shiffrin takes the lead....
  10. No! Pidhrushina putting in an epic.
  11. Last minute letdown for Slavdom, Sweden will get bronze.
  12. Will be 20 secs ahead for the next shoot.
  13. Well, still in it, could have been worse.
  14. Vittozzi Uh oh 2 loops.
  15. Three penalty loops for
  16. Roenngren crashes out. Never bet money on a man who wears a baseball cap backwards in his photo, is what my Grandfather always taught me, and it’s as true today as it was in 1913.
  17. See, that’s why ski racing depends on advertising. Taking out three at a time must be an NR, surely. Hermann Maier the GOAT, of course.
  18. It will never be over. Even though Margaret Thatcher left office over 30 years ago, leftists in Britain still blame things on her, even though they were in power for over a decade. It’s only because Trump came along that American leftists stopped blaming Ronald Reagan.
  19. {Takes a deep breath.} Thursday’s race was two races at once. For major countries it was a qualifying race, for minor countries it was a ranking race. Since the minor countries were pre-qualified for the final, they could not be eliminated. Think of ski jumping in reverse. In qualifying, numbers 70 (or whatever) to 11 must qualify, but World Cup 10 to 1 are already qualified, they qualify even if they do not jump, but get a low ranking. {Sits back exhausted}.
  20. With America suffering its worst weather crisis for decades, Joe Biden takes the day off and lets a Black woman do his work for him. https://nypost.com/2021/02/18/biden-skips-michigan-trip-over-snow-calls-early-lid/
  21. Norway very sportingly giving everyone else a chance by missing lots of shots.
  22. This is a great heroic story. An Iranian judoka who refused to return to Iran after reportedly being ordered to throw a match to avoid facing off with an Israeli is competing in Israel. Saeid Mollaei has said he fears for his life if he goes back home following the episode in the 2019 Judo World Championships in Japan. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-56099440
  23. Liensberger’s coach needs to sort her hair out. It’s definitely costing her time. If she loses by .05 or less, it’s her hair to blame.
  24. It’s a sport that gives everyone a chance. Luge is great, but the only way you are going to get to the top is to go to school in the same town as a track & start at age 10. Pretty much everyone in skeleton converted from some other sport when they were already an adult.
