That's true, I hope (if it's still possible) that our NOC, EOC and EAA will come to an agreement and we will host at least Team Championships (like it was in Baku 2015) and medals will be normally awarded and counted to the medal table.

According the article from insidethegames the only kind of ahtletics present in Krakow will be mountain running and the only kind of swimming will be synchronized. Of course it's not official but I stopped counting on anything.

I understand that there, in that year will be normal European Championships in athletics, but I'm still mad that this sport is missing in programm of these Games, same about rowing and track cycling, we would have won several medals in those sports.

That is disappoiting. I'm glad that program is expanding, that we have modern pentathlon, rugby 7 or climbing but without athletics and swimming this event will never get enough attention.

The law of return is very strict and is not allow any "shopping" to happen every person who is elgible for citezenship due to the law has allawys been the passed in 1950 and the purpose of it is to encourge jews to make "alliyah" and settle in Israel, this law has nothing to do with sport and again if you heard about athleat who represnt Israel and he is not based in Israel, this is the reason, i can asure you that the country is not buying nor importing athleats in exchange of money.

I was just joking with this shopping thing ;) But surely I'm not a fan of changing citezenship only to could compete for another country. Any other reason is perfectly fine for me but sometimes it's hard to recognize is this reason a true or only a trick (I'm not saying that in Israel it is a trick). I hope you understand :)

It's super ambitious indeed, in my eyes they should first focus on Qualifying, but weirder things happend before so...

True that. But still it's very hard for a country outside of the top to fight for medals. Sure France can have Heinrich, Czechs Dvorak but there're still not candidates for medals. And we're talking about countries with some traditions. It's way more difficult for "new" countries. But as Korea proved it's not impossible (but not in 6 years I believe). So as you said, qualification first. I think it's very possible if they continue tradition of compete in North America Cup.

I had a short, but informative, conversation with the pilot of the Israeli Bobsleigh Team today. He’s also the skeleton athlete that represented them at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

After such introduction you could share his name as well cause it's not a big secret now ;)

He shared an article to Reddit about the Israeli team’s goals for the next couple of years. They’re aiming for 4-man qualification at Beijing 2022, and then for a medal in 2026. Apparently the federation has found a strong sponsor that is willing to support them. It sounds like he (and others) are trying to organize Israel into a legitimate and competitive sliding program.

Very ambitious plans for a nation that never participated even in World Cup. With qualification for Beijing there shouldn't be a problem I believe. They traditional competing in North America Cup and it's easier there to get points than in Europe Cup. But medal? Even if Edelman (or someone else) turn out to be a very talented driver what with rest of the team? Does Israel have some talented sprinters to join them into bobsleigh program? Or maybe they are planning "shopping" in another country? ;) I wish them the best (unless they actually do this "shopping" thing) cause it's another nation in this sport that I love to watch but they should have a very big stack of money and start a really wide ranging program to make a way from nothing to a medal in only six years.

Right, but Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple, and HBO have all released movies directly to their platforms for free*

Not for free but for subscriptions. And there is another small difference because none of this platform released movies in the same time as cinemas and this movies are not necessarily available for ever. Besides I think comparing with another platforms is not accurate because Disney is making something new here. First time ever they give people a choice. Do you want go to the cinema or you prefer watch a movie at home? It's really a big thing. One step (probably) forward in movies distribution. I'm really curious what will be results of this move. Shall it be a new trend or will we forget about it quicker than we learned? But back to discusion. What is the difference between this payment and VOD? Do you boycott all VOD movies or PPV broadcasts? Besides nobody forces you to spend this 30$. We can discuss if price is right but market will answer this question. If it's too much people will not buy it. You don't have persuade them to boycott.

And I'm sure that after Blu-ray/DVD premiere this movie will be available at Disney platform, as you said it, for free.

$30 + streaming platform fee seems a little excessive to me. Plus, if Netflix, Hulu, Amazon release a film it’s generally free (besides the streaming platform fees, which aren’t bad).

Well it is a lot of money for a movie, I admit it. But... First of all you get the movie the same day it's in cinema. Second you can watch it as many times as you want and with as many people as you want. It is like you get tickets (not one) to the cinema plus Blu-ray/DVD in one price. It's not a good deal for single person, especially if he or she won't like the movie but for families or group of friends? It's even better (unless they really enjoy cinemas but in this case they can just go there, right?).

I'm not reading posts because of spoilers, but I tried to watch the Lausanne DL and the channel that normally shows DL has nothing. Was it even held, or was it only pole vault in the city somewhere and no other events? Because I do find a Kendricks vs Duplantis video on Youtube which I'm watching now :p

It's only Pole Vault. That's the whole meeting.

Shotgun isn’t contested at youth or junior multi-sports games, at least I can’t think of a time it has.

    Excuses, excuses :p

Sport Climbing was most likely omitted because of a lack of national representation. There’s still only 8/9 Pan American NOCs with active Sport Climbing federations.

At IFSC there are 16 members from Americas: :ARG:BOL:BRA:CAN:CHI:COL:CRC:ECU:ESA:GUA:HON:MEX:PAN:PER:USA:VEN Of course it doesn't mean that all of them could send a team. But if at senior Panam Games could be Water Skiing, where there are always 9-10 nations participating (in Toronto was 12) then I think Climbing could be also.

Rain has come down hard in the last hour - men's shot put is ruined by it, they're using leaf blower to clear water from the circle

And thanks to that Szyszkowski has silver, Bukowiecki only bronze. I'm waiting and waiting for Bukowiecki to start to dominate in the world... Man, how talented junior he was.

Maybe you heard anywhere why either Krawczuk

It looks like Krawczuk doesn't have any injury cause he start today at 200m (he won gold) and later in relay. And talking about relay, very interesting squad of RKS Łódź: three middle-distance runner (including Adam Kszczot, another absence at this Championships) and one sprinter. Effect? Gold medal :d

  10. 1 hour ago, rybak said:

With absence of Lewandowski and Kszczot on semifinals in 800m the winner was Michał Rozmys, he will be huge favourite for second gold here (after yesterdays gold on 1500m)

Probably but I wouldn't underestimate Borkowski. And from now on I start to watch Różnicki more closely. He really make impression on me.

Statistically speaking, if that is a random sample, than yes, it could be.

No it's not. It's impossible to fit in so small sample every social group, every age group, every profession group, residents of cities and villiges, every region residents, every religion group etc. All that can have influence on people opinion and to be honest everything has. Education, sexual orientation, skin color, everything. And if you want your research to be a reflection of reality, so to say, you must have representatives of all possible groups in it (with equivalent percentage of ich).

Rozmys's gold is the biggest surprise so far.

It surely is but I wouldn't say it's a big surprise. Sure, Lewandowski was favorite but in this strange season you can't be sure who prepare best shape on which competition. Because of that I assumed that Rozmys who defeated Lewandowski at 2019 World Military Games can defeat him today. I even didn't take away Borkowski's chances.

Maybe you heard anywhere why either Krawczuk or Krzewina didn't start in 400m?

Nothing certain but probably injuries. Marek Plawgo wrote something about it on his twitter today but he didn't mention any names. Krzewina was even on start list so in his case it must be fresh. Krawczuk participated not so long ago in Chorzów at Kusociński's Meeting so it's also fresh but Omelko last start was in June.

    Same about Kornelia Lesiewicz

That's just my guess but she started in Bydgoszcz at Szewińska's Meeting and later in Chorzów at Kusociński's. If she would participate also at NCh she had to run four or five times (depends if she would advance to the final plus relay) in 12 days. Maybe it's too much for 17-year old girl? Besides I think that one of NCh U23, U20 or U18 which all will be at September is her goal in this season.

I checked start lists and several known names are missing (not counting Włodarczyk): Śmietanka in pole vault, Bednarek in high jump, Omelko in 400m, Krystian Zalewski on 3000m SC

Zalewski has some problem with health as he wrote on his facebook. Bednarek is ijnured, he didn't start in this season even once. I don't know if Śmietanka even continues her sport carier. Last time I heard of her was at ECh in Berlin. There's also no Adam Kszczot.

  13. Some good results at Polish NCh day 1. Hammer first of all of course. Wojciech Nowicki won with result 80,28 which is second place in World List. Paweł Fajdek was second with 78,61 (his SB). In Women's Katarzyna Furmanek won with 72,85 which would be 8th result in the world this season if she wouldn't have better result already. Norbert Kobielski won Men's HJ with 2,26 (in first attempt). There was also small suprise in Men's 1500m where Marcin Lewandowski (WCh 2019 bronze medalist) lost after slow run with Michał Rozmys (Military World Champion 2019).

  14. So close to the end :(

    - Athletics - 4x400m relays at first place of course, later Men's Javelin and 1500m and Women's High Jump, after that Women's Marathon and 10000m (why are they at the same day?! it's almost so stupid as making two men's race walking day by day, oh wait...)

    - Basketball - men's final is most important for me but I would try to watch bronze medal match also

    - Beach Volleyball - men's medal matches

    - Boxing - four finals, especially Men's Fly (I think lower weights are more interesting)

    - Canoe Sprint - Women's K4 and Men's C1 1000m are most important because of Poles

    - Track Cycling - Men's Keirin and Madison of course, Women's Sprint not so much

    - Equestrian - Jumping Team final

    - Football - men's final

    - Handball - men's medal matches

    - Modern Pentathlon - men's competition

    - Volleyball - men's medal matches

    - Water Polo - women's medal matches

    - Wrestling - last day of competition

M volleyball final - i hope it would be Poland vs USA. And i hope it would be a really good match.

This is the last opponent I would like to play with in the final. Our guys definitely can't play with Americans or maybe I should say that this is the opponent they have always biggest problems with. I would like even Russia which matches with are always very emotional. I would like anyone really, just not USA ;)
