Now that we have entry list.
Team dressage - Germany favourite for gold, followed by Great Britain. Bronze probably between Netherlands, USA and Sweden, with Dutch being the favourites.
Individual dressage - probably between Charlotte Dujardin and the Germans, outside chances mainly for the Dutch, Ferrer-Salat (ESP), Vilhelmson-Silfven (SWE) and the Americans
Team eventing - Germany should be in front. Other teams to look out for are New Zealand, Great Britain, Australia, USA and France. Dark horses could be Ireland and Netherlands (Dutch are bronze medalist from 2014 WEG but their chances are not looking too good when either Alice Naber's or Theo van de Vendel's score will have to count , they really do miss Elaine Pen..).
Individual eventing - Michael Jung (GER) they say, although he is not that unbeatable this year apparently. Others are Auffarth (GER), Klimke (GER), Fox-Pitt (GBR), Tattersall (GBR), New Zealand's Mark Todd and Jonelle Price, USA's Clark Montgomery, Australia's Shane Rose (and Chris Burton), Sweden's Ludwig Svennersatl (who defeated Jung last month), colonel Vallette from France... A lot could depend on the cross-country course.
Team jumping - I see Netherlands, France, USA and Germany, followed by Great Britain and Switzerland. Sweden and Canada could be dark horses. Ukraine and Brazil also, their quality is a bit "unknown"
Individual jumping - this is just way to open , basically every big team has couple of good candidates. But let's mention Steve Guerdat, the defending champion, who is a bit of an expert for the big stage events and also McLain Ward from the USA, who is having a great year with new horse Azur...

Because the FBI totally let Marion Jones off the hook and covered for Lance Armstrong...
There is zero evidence of state sponsored dopping in the US.

Key points:
The Moscow Laboratory operated a state-dictated system for doped athletes, that the Sochi lab operated a sample-swapping methodology to allow Russian athletes to dope at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and that the Ministry of Sport oversaw the process, with participation from the Russian security service. McLaren: “the system was set up following the 2010 Olympics, and was in place until 2014. It allowed the transformation of a positive result to a negative one, overseen by the Deputy Minister of Sport. The Ministry of Sport, Rusada and the FSB were involved in this process”. McLaren confirms that positive tests “in every sports discipline” were passed to the Deputy Minister of Sport, Yuri Nagornykh. McLaren adds that Nagornykh “decided who would benefit from a cover up and who would not be protected.” McLaren also says Russia manipulated samples during 2013 world athletics and 2015 world swimming championships. McLaren says that the investigation has proved “beyond a reasonable doubt” that this took place, assisted by the FSB, the Russian federal security service. McLaren adds that evidence of tampering on the inside of bottle caps was present in all samples tested. McLaren has said that the report’s key findings have been proven “beyond a reasonable doubt”, and that the evidence is “verifiable”. “I have unwavering confidence in the report”, he adds. "Russian athletes from the vast majority of summer and winter Olympic sports benefited from the Disappearing Positive Methodology" (Via Rob at GB)

I don´t know which countries already validated their teams, and sorry, but I really don´t have so much time to click in all 206 NOC websites and search there if they officialized the team. I has also some else things to do.
try to wait 1-2 maybe 3 days dude, the confirmed teams will be announced. today is the deadline

Turkish athletes are really starting to make me angry, what is this shit? Its pathetic, i really dont understand why turkish people arent embarrassed about all this. They have more than 80 million people but cant produce a single world class athlete on their own.

I have already reserved my vacation (15 working days) from Monday 1st August to Sunday 21st August My boss wasn´t very happy with that, but well, what can he do ? I conserved the whole year my vacation days, I went to work each day sometimes pissed and angry, sometimes annoyed and lazy, but I knew that it will pay off and I´ll be very happy in August so just less than 1 month to survive and let start the best possible holidays with my TV and PC

The road-to-rio page is a very huge project to manage for one or two people. The list are not compiled by the site itself but are extracted from the Tilastopaja statistics website. The road-to-rio page then then adds all the qualification and selection information. There are so many events happening throughout the world, athletes switching allegiance to get a shot at competing in Rio, athletes getting injured or disqualified for doping, and countries starting to announce their selection, that it is difficult to keep track of everything.
Jordin Andrade was listed on the site but still as an American. I have sent a note to the website and his citizenship has been updated now.
Oliver is really reactive. So if you think there is a mistake or some information missing, don't hesitate to drop him a note. http://www.road-to-rio.com/about.php

you still must count in that in canoe slalom, especially in C1, very small entry list, harder track, stronger wind and a lot of favorites may have some serious troubles in the final race and miss gates, (look at womens K1 in Beijing 2008 ) it happened many times before, it´s also a reason why this sport is great, you never know what will happen, so in C1 I count on a slim chance also for Cameron
