  1. Brad Jacobs is 0-3 to start the Players Championship including a loss to Retornaz
  2. These are the events I will go to: Opening Ceremony Women's 3000m speed skating Canada v Czechia and Canada v USA in Women's hockey Short track speed skating session on Feb 10 5 events, one per day, except on Feb 10, with two. On Feb 8 I will be doing a day trip up to Switzerland.
  3. Liam Gill finished 21st in qualifying at the snowboarding halfpipe WC in Aspen. The five people ahead of him in the allocation list: Teixeira - 24th Ren China - 22nd Podlatchikov Switzerland - DNC ---- Stante Slovenia 33nd Kim Korea 30th So Gill beat all of them, and hopefully move himself closer to a quota. Canada currently has no one in qualification position in the men's halfpipe.
  4. @JoshCurling is 11, but you have 12 in your list. Cross-country is 11 but you have 10. The Canadian men are first reserve in snowboard cross, so we might get a 4th quota in that event.
  5. Fourth in both Aerials events today.
  6. If you start acting sick on the 5th you can probably get away with taking of a couple days as sick too
  7. Trinity Ellis talks about her situation and the larger picture around funding https://macleans.ca/sports/the-true-cost-of-competing-in-the-olympics/
  8. More info on Connor Howe's injury:https://www.rmoutlook.com/local-sports/its-disappointing-canmore-speed-skater-to-miss-winter-olympics-11699499
  9. They are wrong about their own matrix Unless they are for sure La Rue/Brunet/Hall is going to win the second MS quota
  10. Lamarche wins the 1500, and Maltais was second. Copying over @NearPups matrix here Rank Event Athlete 1 3000m (1) Isabelle Weidemann Q 2 5000m (1) Isabelle Weidemann Q 3 3000m (2) Valérie Maltais Q 4 5000m (2) Laura Hall Q 5 Mass Start (1) Ivanie Blondin Q 6 Mass Start (2) Valérie Maltais Q 7 1000m (1) Béatrice Lamarche Q 8 1500m (1) Ivanie Blondin Q 9 3000m (3) Laura Hall Q 10 500m (1) Béatrice Lamarche Q 11 1000m (2) Rose Laliberté-Roy Q 12 1500m (2) Béatrice Lamarche Q 13 500m (2) Carolina Hiller-Donnelly Q 14 500m (3) Brooklyn McDougall Q 15 1500m (3) Valérie Maltais Q 16 1000m (3) Alexa Scott Alexa Scott misses out, with Carolina Hiller-Donnelly likely to take the last spot in the 1000
  11. In the 2nd 500, Dubreuil broke the TR, which was held by Jordan Stolz! Zhao was second and Johnson third. Not sure if this race has any implication on selection. For the women McDougall + Larter were the top 2. After yesterday's race Dubreuil said it was difficult to do the race and he fought of an illness and wasn't training for it. So hopefully this new TR is a good sign heading into the Olympics.
  12. Laura Hall wins the 5000! The men's 1000 results are still not on the website. I wonder if there has been some sort of dispute?
  13. Allison Mackie 8th in the 10k at the Tour De Ski event in Italy!
  14. Brendan McKay DNS the final of the WC in Calgary
  15. Cynthia Appiah wins silver in the monobob at the World Cup stop in Winterberg Germany!
  16. We will know at least 2 new names tomorrow (in the 500 m/w) we will get one more name each.
  17. Men's doubles is training in Whistler (one of them was injured) and is getting back up to speed. Theo Downey is injured and one of the women's doubles athletes has an illness. This country cannot catch a break
  18. Liliane Gagnon has withdrawn from the Tour de Ski. In her Instagram post (in French) she wishes for more health before racing at the Olympics. Hopefully that doesn't mean what I think it does
