  1. Is there anywhere we can see the draws?
  2. Angela Whyte, yes the same Angela Whyte who competed in multiple Olympics, will be racing the 100m hurdles this Saturday in Windsor.
  3. Dabrowski dropped out of the top 10. This means she must pick Fichman to go to Tokyo. I think that would be ideal because both are doubles specalists.
  4. Where would the quota come from? You can't just find one lol, unless someone declines, which seems unlikely.
  5. And there was other Pan American boats in the race that they could have given it too as well. Bizarre they just gave it to non Pan American countries. Here is a link (in French) https://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/1795902/comite-olympique-canadien-japon-trois-rivieres-eric-myles-mauricie
  6. Most don't get it either. Hoping she gets a slot to compete. Canoe Kayak Canada is trying its best. Btw welcome!
  7. Yea she seems to be off her form. Always up and down with her. I am not sure what Swimming Canada will do in terms of b swimmers...but if they hit or better their entry times, they should be selected.
  8. America's also qualifies in men's through the WC. Overall confusing.
  9. Swimming here are Men 50m freestyle: Brent Hayden 100m freestyle: Brent Hayden 200m freestyle: Alexander Pratt (B standard) 400m freestyle: Jeremy Bagshaw (B standard) 800m freestyle: Peter Brothers (B standard) 1500m freestyle: Michael McGillivray (B standard) 100m back: Markus Thormeyer and Cole Pratt 200m back: Markus Thormeyer (preselected) and Cole Pratt 100m breast: Richard Funk (B standard) 200m breast: James Dergousoff (B standard) 100m butterfly: Joshua Liendo (B standard) 200m butterfly: Mack Darragh (B standard) 200im: Finlay Knox and Cole Pratt 400im: Tristan Cote (B standard 4x100m freestyle relay: Brent Hayden, Markus Thormeyer, Yuri Kisil (relay only), Joshua Liendo. I really do not see anyone else being named to this team 4x100m medley relay: Brent Hayden (freestyle), Markus Thormeyer (backstroke), Richard Funk (breaststroke) and Joshua Liendo (butterfly). I expect Gabe Mastromatteo to be named as a relay only swimmer in this event as well. If everyone in the individual races hit at least B standard, we should see 15 male swimmers going to Tokyo. Women 50m freestyle: Kayla Sanchez (B standard) 100m freestyle: Taylor Ruck (preselected), Penny Oleksiak 200m freestyle: Penny Oleksiak (preselected), Taylor Ruck 400m freestyle: Emily Overholt 800m freestyle: Emma O'Croinin 1500m freestyle: Emma O'Croinin, Summer McIntosh 100m back: Kylie Masse (preselected), Taylor Ruck 200m back: Kylie Masse (preselected), Taylor Ruck 100m breast: Kelsey Wog, Kierra Smith 200m breast: Sydney Pickrem (preselected), Kelsey Wog 100m butterfly: Maggie Macneil (preselected), Rebecca Smith 200m butterfly: Mabel Zavaros (b standard) 200im: Sydney Pickrem (preselected), Bailey Andison 400im: Sydney Pickrem (preselected), Emily Overholt 4x100m freestyle relay: Ruck, Oleksiak, Sanchez, Macneil 4x200m freestyle relay: Oleksiak, Ruck, Mcintosh, Overholt 4x100m medley relay: No new swimmers will be added here I believe. So about 29 swimmers overall, men on pace to qualify for more swimmers
  10. June 9th team size predictor. S Artistic swimming: 8 (confirmed) Diving: 9 (Could be 8, but I predict 9, 4 men and 5 women) Swimming: 26-30 (hard to tell, due to the nature of the trials). Water polo: 12 (confirmed) Archery 4 (I predict the men's team will qualify) Athletics: 50 (47 have qualified at the moment, 25 women and 22 men). 50 is a conservative estimate Badminton: 8 (confirmed, 1 entry in each event) Basketball: 12 (women's team confirmed) Boxing: 4 (3 women, qualified, one man is on the ranking list, does not include Mandy Bujold) Canoeing: 18-19 (4 in slalom and 14-15 in sprint, depending if LVL gets a quota) Cycling: 23 (Road:5, track: 13, mountain biking: 3, 2 in bmx) Confirmed. Equestrian: 6 (confirmed) Fencing: 9 (confirmed) Field hockey: 16 (confirmed) Football: 18 (confirmed) Golf: 4 (all but confirmed) Gymnastics: 7 (5 in artistic + 2 in trampoline, Jeremy Chartier has done enough) Judo: 6 (73kg, 81 kg, 90kg and 100 kg for men and 52, 57 and 63 for women, more or less confirmed) Karate: 0-3 (3 athletes in contention for spots at the final qualifier) Rowing: 29 (confirmed) Rugby: 24 (confirmed) Sailing: 9 (confirmed) Shooting: 1 (confirmed) Skateboarding: 3 (confirmed) Softball: 15 (confirmed) Sport climbing: 2 (confirmed) Table tennis: 3 (confirmed) Taekwondo: 1-2 (still awaiting confirmation on reallocation for 49kg) Tennis: 6 (Raonic. Shapovalov, Auger-Alliasiame, Andrescu, Dabrowski and Fichman), hoping for more, but I think this is it Triathlon: 4 (2 women, 2 men, all 4 should be safe) Volleyball: 18 (men's indoor, 2 pairs in women's and 1 in men's for beach) Weightlifting: 5 (4 women and 1 man, confirmed) Wrestling: 4 (confirmed) At a minimum: 364 qualified, could be as high as 383, either number would be national record in a non-home/boycotted games, not to mention below, which with luck can bring the team size into the 400's! TBD: Men's basketball (12 athletes) If all goes well for swimming/basketball/athletics, we are looking at around 395~ athletes. Just hope it could be 400!
  11. Do you have a prediction on which weights CHina will choose in the end?
  12. Canada qualified five!! weightlifters for Tokyo. Men: Boady Santavy 96 kg Women: Rachel LeBlanc-Bazinet 55 kg Tali Darsigny - 59 kg (USA has 4 other women qualified in top 8, so I dobut they pick this category) Maude Charron - 64 kg Kristel Ngarlem - 76 kg Santavy + Charron should be medal contenders
  13. And we are also waiting for word on Colombia and Romania bans
  14. Wow Canada qualified a full women's team.
  15. got a spot in the men's 69 kg event (Wyatt Sanford) Sanford was the highest ranked in Pan America not qualified, so id imagine this is a WR quota
  16. Does anyone know the seeds?
  17. At most one male. No female quotas since Canada qualified. However the system later says if a continent qualifies through the world rankings (which would) then a continent won't get a spot through the continental championships. This process is so convoluted.
  18. And to add to the fun, Deguchi's younger sister is also in the same weight category
  19. Interesting! Thank you for pointing that out. That means is officially qualified in either scenario. would replace in the second scenario. I am not going to even start with the women's Gymnastics Canada did not send Samantha Smith thinking they couldn't qualify a second women, and now she can't go to the Olympics.
  20. Rowing/Shooting/Sailing look like the "punching bags" by the IOC besides the obvious ones. Wouldn't be shocking to see continued declines through 2028.
  21. I guess I can do Currently team size is 6 athletes. Badminton: 1 Equestrian: 1 Gymnastics (artistic): 1 Shooting: 1 Swimming: 2 Athletes in process of qualifying: 100m men: Athlete currently has a PB of 10.09, just a few spots out of qualifying through world rankings High jump men: Ranked 49th. I really feel for him, because he is currently studying in the USA with a scholarship, which means he cannot compete in the bigger events like the Diamond League without jeopardizing his scholarship. His PB of 2.30 is higher than the last 4 ranked jumpers in the rankings. 3000m steelpechase women: Currently in qualification position. Judo: Possible wild card Weightlifting: Possible wild card
  22. Just went by what's listed on wikipedia, it already shows Megan Ryan as qualified. If that is not correct, then yes you are right Megan Ryan would get the quota.
  23. North Korea reallocation Archery: +2 (1m, 1w) Boxing: +1 (1w) - this is just based on the rankings Diving: One additional spot available now in the 10m through World Cup Gymnastics: +1 (1w) Shooting; TBD, highest placed country with MQS scores in each of 10m air pistol per gender will qualify (the countries must have 0 athletes qualified in shooting so far) Table tennis: +1 (1 w), the reallocation goes through multiple levels lol Wrestling 53 kg: and 62 kg:
