  4. At the World Cup Stop in Rimini, Italy, Sophiane Methot finished eighth, had the highest score in the SF and would have won with that score in the final (she had a fall in the final). Sarah Milette also crashed in the SF's to finish 24th Jérémy Chartier had the 8th best score in qualifying, and crashed out in the SF's. Rémy Aubin finished 49th with a score of 52.940
  5. Canada's top male and female gymnast, William Emard and Ellie Black are injured. Canadian nationals are happening this weekend and teams for the major Championships will be selected this year.
  6. Our Para-Canoe team is also doing great. The able-bodied team will have 18! finals tomorrow (though some B or lower finals might be cancelled).
  7. Moncton would have been a great location.

  13. There really isn't any strong argument to dropping shooting imo. Only thing I have read is venue requirements being an issue (but both Australia and England have hosted the games this century with the sport...). Rhythmic is easily accompanied in the same venue as artistic....but I never understood its inclusion either as the sport has almost no tradition in the Commonwealth.
  14. Congress also voted to include in the Olympic programme a women's Nordic combined, paired mogul and mixed ski cross competitions in freestyle and mixed competitions in snowboarding in parallel slalom. from itg
  15. Nylander and Co choke again when it matters
  16. I think some of your facts are wrong. Yea don't agree with shooting being dropped.. but 40 events (some which were doubled up) is a joke. To say dropping weightlifting from 45 to 15 is a farce is laughable. Every MSE awards medals for the total lift only...so are those events a joke ? Wrestling is on the Birmingham program and has many (womens) events under subscribed atm (ie not enough entries). Australia has no tradition in this sport and its no surprise they have not included it in their home games. However, there will be more sports added and wrestling is still a possibility.
  17. Looks like is the new as they recently acquired 3 Kenyans to run for them
  18. We are at 10500 athletes now. I doubt there will be further cuts
  19. Thomas Ulsrud of Norway (Vancouver silver medalist, among other accomplishments) passed away from cancer.
  20. Connor Fitzpatrick got sick during the WC, explains the result
