  1. Sorry that 77.54 throw was in competition and that means he has hit the World Championships standard.

  6. As per @Sindo combining all five disciplines into one thread!
  7. Oleksiak is out of the Commonwealth Games, she WD to manage workload
  8. If the IOC drops the sport, it will be q unilateral decision. The FIS did not discuss this at all at their recently concluded congress. The quotas dropped from NC would allow Ski mountaineering to be held with no other sports needing quota cuts.
  9. Canada's best (arguably) para-swimmer Aurelie Rivard had a medical emergency during a race at the World Championships. https://ici.radio-canada.ca/sports/1891073/paranatation-aurelie-rivard-abandon-mondiaux-madere-portugal-tess-routiliffe Hopefully everything is okay!
  10. Wrestling team named: https://wrestling.ca/canadian-wrestling-team-named-for-2022-commonwealth-games/
  11. The 16 host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be announced on Thursday
  12. The FIS games are a reality now. The first edition will be in 2024, with all FIS disciplines, and I would assume non-Olympic events will be included as well. They will be held every 4 years.
  13. Initial qualifiers posted here: https://www.paralympic.org/sites/default/files/2022-06/2022_06_10 Paris QR_v1.pdf Wheelchair basketball axed from 22 teams combined to 16.
  14. qualified for the women's rugby sevens tournament
  15. Don't mean to be a cynic, but our men's volleyball team looks to be toast at the WL, three heavy loses at home to start. There are a lot of new players on the team, perhaps this golden generation of the last two quads is over. On the other hand, the women seem to be improving and handily beat the DR, and they look to be solidly second in Norceca.
  16. And in the dumbest territorial dispute comes to an end: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-canada-and-denmark-reach-settlement-over-disputed-arctic-island/
  17. Camryn Rogers with another Canadian NR in the women's hammer throw, 77.67, the 9th largest throw in history.
  18. Camryn Rogers with another NR, 77.67, the 9th largest throw in history.
  19. Men's foil: Same countries qualified as the men's sabre in team and individual, which confirms a second quota for Women's foil: Individual: and Cuba has only 1 quota through 4/6 events.
  20. And now the women took gold in the team foil event!! Shades of Toronto 2015!
  21. Australia is the men's favourite. The women's has Canada (of Pavan and Melissa play) and Australia's Olympic medalists.
