Unnerving to see deserving athletes being victims of personal grudges and vendettas.

Oh yeah, I remembered @mrv86... There is another Indonesian coach...
Not sure if he is still in the job but in 2014, there is a discussion about an Indonesian coach in Mexico whose name is Muamar Qadafi, just like the Libyan dictator

Our legend Tan Joe Hok did coach Mexico in the late 70s, but I don't know if there is any after him.

That's all cool and stuff for daily life, but it's just not fair if a male proclaims himself female (which one has every right to do, or at least one should have that right) and goes and compete against born females, who are then automatically put at a major physical disadvantage. There's a reason so many more of these problematic cases in sports are around females who are born male rather than males who are born female.

Semenya has an xy-chromosome. This alone already makes it debatable, if she is biologically a female. And in Sports, this does matter, because biologically male athletes have a major physical advantage compared to the females. If the female athletes have to compete against someone who has that much of a physical advantage, you simply can cancel women's sports for good.
I feel sorry for Semenya, because nothing of this is her fault and yet the poor woman got almost notorious because of this. But I also feel sorry for the xx-women, who have to compete against her.

It's not 'completely wrong'. There is no 'completely right' or 'completely wrong' in this way too complicated case.
And what kind of bill has been passed there specifically, (even though it's irrelevant in this case)? Letting female athletes with testosteron levels that are way, way above the 'normal situation' compete? Or something else?

BTW, last night I found out the games have a game for smartphones.
It's very simple, just six games, but the graphics and the surf mini is OK... and you can choose to compete for any of the 41 NOC's in America.

On the contrary: it was his execution that secured the bronze medal. Caio Souza had more difficult elements, but worse execution. I've wanted a medal for Molinari for so long that I don't even care he knocked a Brazilian off the podium. I agree that his past achievements may have made the judges a bit more lenient, but he deserved a medal after such a long career. The man is just tireless and he kept going and going and going until he could finally get this medal. I'm so, so, so happy!
Now, de Luna had a better executed routine and deserved the gold medal. Zanetti's mistake cost him 0.6 (0.3 for loss of control when lowering his body and an extra 0.3 for using his forearms to bring his body to vertical position). In gymnastics, sometimes what seems like a small mistake is actually something quite big that will shave a lot of points off the final score.
I agree. He deserves an individual medal. His last chance is on the high bar, and anything can happen.

Sad for Daniel Corral, but glad for both Gonzalez and of course De Luna
Amazing final, I think the gold could have been awarded to either De Luna and Zanetti.
Meanwhile, I think Molinari's difficulty and past merits helped him secure bronze. In my amateur opinion either Souza or Cournoyer showed more control. Still great for him to retire with a medal.

I am sure the NOC would like to field their best teams, but its mostly the NFs that are really stupid.
I cannot even start to state how stupid Cycling Canada is.

Mostly disappointment for Canada so far, but that was to be expected with a lot of b teams. I am surprised and happy to see Canada is third in overall medals.

Interesting Panamerican Games, what a good tournament for Mexico!!.
Canada will defeat any "gold draw" with all that silvers
After this results, i have some hope to defeat Colombia.....but is more hope than reality, i admit that.

I agree, but I also think swimming will make a big difference. Mexico is not expected to win any gold medals (or even maybe any medal at all) in swimming, so this sport could define which nation will jump to second place.

It could happen, Mexico has been making good on its chances. There's still a lot to go and it could end up coming down to how many gold medals does the United States deny Brazil/Canada or how many golds does Cuba win in boxing.
