  1. In the women's events. Cuba has won both men's singles and doubles.
  2. Wow! I thought there was some age limit, but I guess it's not the case.
  3. Honduras had an awful 2nd day, with two of its riders being eliminated, thus bumping them to 5th place. Barbados on the other hand looks in a good position to finish in 3rd place, as does Susan Archer currently in 6th. Also a good competition from the Salvadorian rider, now holding the 4th position.
  4. Yes he absolutely destroyed everyone else in the track, so a very well deserved medal for him.
  5. Well, it was not so much as a surprise, as Martinez has obtained medals at World Championships in this event. However, competing at Colombia, he was the underdog.
  6. And it's gold for Mexico in speed skating Great job Jorge Luis Martinez Also congrats to Guatemala for winning the women's 300m time trial
  7. Actually most disciplines had a qualification process, just like the Panamerican Games. But still, Honduras got the benefit of very few nations competing in this sport.
  8. Actually most disciplines had a qualification process, just like the Panamerican Games. But still, Honduras got the benefit of very few nations competing in this sport.
  9. First medal for Mexico in women's poomsae (taekwondo) Great for Daniela Rodríguez
  10. Excellent results for Honduras riders in eventing after day 1, currently with individual riders in 3rd and 4th and their team in 2nd What do you think @dcro?
  11. I know, plus they are competing under the French Flag, which is their de jure flag.
  12. First GR broken in women's 50m breastroke, by Mathilde Jean from with a 28.52 time. Update: Now, the record belongs to Colombia's Isabella Hurtado with 28.16
  13. First gold medal of the Games, in women's time trial road cycling goes to Cuba's Arlenis Sierra, joined in the podum by two Colombian riders.
  14. Well they already did it, naming a stadium in his honour and giving him the privilege the light the cauldron... but there are other great Colombian athletes to just concentrate on them
  15. Again talking about Rentería? Did he pay the whole games or what?
  16. The first part of the show (before the Athlete's parade) was somewhat promising, despite some problems with the illumination, but then it turned itself into a corny mashup. What a pity
  17. Probably she will follow this act.
  18. I would have expected them to pick double Olympic champion Mariana Pajon to light the torch, given she's not going to be able to compete. But I guess they decided to give the honor to their local hero, Rentería.
  19. Probably they're fixing Shakira's wardrobe, so they need those extra minutes
  20. On the right side of the page, there's a section that says "Competencias en curso"... I guess you can see there which ones are currently on stream.
  21. Also 4 live channels in the Games website http://barranquilla2018.com/en-vivo/
  22. Summary of Mexican competitors results (after Day 0) Irregular performance of our divers in the preliminaries of the 1m Springboard; all of them were very irregular in their executions and I pray they pulish those mistakes by tomorrow, or else they risk losing two valuable golds to their main rivals in the overall medal tally. With regards to other divers performance, I'm surprised that Knight-Wisdom (JAM) failed to qualify to the final in the men's events, while the performances of Colombian and Cuban competitors was quite good, so they shall have a confidence boost for tomorrow. In table tennis, expected results for both our teams; just hoping they can win their matches tomorrow so they can have a better chance for the medal, especially the men's team, which has enough potential to go into the finals. On a general note, I found the draws a little bit unbalanced, which in the end, have played in favor of Cuba; yet I think the rival to beat it's Puerto Rico. Also worth mentioning that Trinidad and Tobago men's team is not participating, due to their federation refusal to review the arbitrary exclusion of Dexter St. Louis as part of the team, following an award from their sports tribunal that ordered so, thus making the country's NOC to deny the other players the right to be at the Games. The most surprising result from a Mexican competitor however came in women's laser radial competition, with Elena Oetling winning two of the races and finishing second in the other , which gives her a better prospect to earn a medal, if not to finish top of the podium.
  23. I can bet she's some rich girl who only wants to travel around, as honestly, there hasn't been a proper training program in our federation. Well, better luck for her next time.
