  1. I voted for Great Britain for the diving because I know that China will win, as they are undoubtedly the best, but I think Great Britain should have silver.
  2. The men are missing Ethan Hayter who helped them beat Italy at last years worlds.
  3. Opening event moved to 10:00 (CET), now the Girls snowboard big air
  4. same for me, looking on the results page the competition hasn't started
  5. Just wondering, with the addition of a women's luge doubles, would the mixed team event expand to include both the men's and women's doubles or just stay the same with the Open doubles? Personally I would rather keep the open doubles because otherwise it will keep limiting the number of competitive nations.

  7. Is it the same rule as the Europeans, can a nation qualify only one Shooter per event.
  8. Does anyone know what the tiebreaker is if teams or individuals are on a tie?
  9. Although they didn't show it for Auffarth, I think that if a ride wants to go clear they need to exit the water section with about 2 minutes remaining. Although this may be irrelevant if they don't show it on TV.
  10. Hi,Thanks for inviting me to the club. I have been looking at totallympics for a while and chose to sign up today. I love watching any sports although my favourites are swimming and tennis. Whenever there is a multi sport event on I watch obsessively and I will sit in front of the TV from the very start to the end of the session. My favourite athlete is Adam Peaty and my favourite event to watch at the olympics is the 100m Breaststroke. Outside of swimming my favourite event is archery. I look forward to contributing to topics and keeping track of lots of different sports in this club.
  11. Team Great Britain early qualification predictions Archery 3-6 athletes - Definitely Women's team, especially with Bryony Pitman. Men's Team may be harder but is still possible, Artistic Swimming 0-2 athletes - Duet likely but not guaranteed Athletics 70-85 athletes - We sent 77 to Tokyo and 81 to the worlds and have lots of young talent coming through (unfortunately just on track), but we have a strong chance of sending more than Tokyo, although it does come down to injuries as we don't have the depth to replace athletes if they become injured in some events. Badminton 4-6 athletes - Unlikely we will send anyone in the singles but a few good shouts in the doubles. Basketball 0 athletes Boxing 10-13 athletes - A lot of strength across all the home nations so chances in virtually every weight category. Breaking 0-2 athletes - No idea of our talent here, I would hope to qualify at least one athlete though. Canoeing Sprint - 2-5 athletes - It will be hard with the retirement of Liam Heath but I was impressed by our women's K4 at the europeans. Slalom - 3-4 - With the addition of extreme kayak we have some good medal chances. Cycling Track - 10-12 athletes - With the Women's Team Sprint moving up to 3 athletes we should have a good chance of qualifying that for the first time since London. Road - 6-8 athletes - It will all depend on the rankings but I hope we can send at least one team of four for the road race. Mountain Bike - 2-4 athletes- I am slightly worried that Tom Pidcock may not qualify if he doesn't start competing in a few more world cups. BMX- 3-5 athletes- around the same as Tokyo with probably just on athlete in each event. Diving 10-12 athletes - The same as Tokyo but with a few more medals this time, especially on the women's side Equestrian 9/9 or there will be riots among the English upper class. Fencing 0-2 athletes - A couple of individual fencers but no teams Field Hockey 16-32 athletes - I would expect a full quota after the successes at the commonwealth games. Football 0-18 athletes - No men's team but the women's should qualify. With it all depending on the world cup there is always some jeopardy. Golf 3-4 athletes but it all depends on wether they decide to go or focus on other tournaments. Gymnastics 10 - I would expect a full team considering our recent successes at European level. Handball 0 athletes Judo 3-5 athletes - Mainly on the women's side which means no chance for the mixed team. Modern Pentathlon 3-4 athletes after our double gold in Tokyo Rowing 40-50 athletes - Tokyo was disappointing but the Europeans gave me some hope. Rugby 7's 12-24 athletes but we are heading in the wrong direction Sailing 12-14 athletes - Hopefully a full quota but a lot of retirements since Tokyo Shooting 5-8 athletes - Skeet and Trap are our only real chances, but it would be nice to get two in each event, especially skeet so we can qualify 2 mixed teams. Skateboarding 0-2 athletes - Sky Brown wants to do both skating and surfing in Paris, which will be hard since they are 10000 miles away. Sport Climbing 0-2 athletes - With the retirement of S.Coxsley it will be hard but I hope world Bronze medallist Hamish Macarthur will qualify. Surfing 0-1 Athletes- See Skateboarding Swimming 30-40 - We sent 32 to Tokyo but I would expect more in Paris with lots of new talent coming through. Table Tennis 1-3 athletes - Pitchford, Drinkhall and Ho competed in Tokyo, and perhaps Anna Hursey could qualiy after her success at the commonwealths, athough for hur she could always compete in 2028 and beyond. Taekwondo 4-7 athletes - but if the Russians remain banned it opens up more spots. Tennis 4-7 athletes - It likely depends if people double up or even skip the olympics to focus on rankings. (I know that Brits are terrible on Clay) Triathlon 4-6 athletes - The women are more likely to qualify 3 than the men but it's not impossible for both Volleyball 0 athletes Weightlifting 2-5 athletes - We need more on the men's side but the women are strong Totals Optimistic - 385 (We sent 370 to Tokyo) Pessimistic - 269 Expectation - Anything over 350 would be great
