Bowie looked awful. She won't make the final IMO.
-
Malachowski bombs out at 62,20m. That won't be good enough.
-
Ta Lou 10,85.

Dead heat between Swoboda & Luckenkemper for 3rd. Polish TV obviously got it wrong. Can't stand this idiot Babiarz.
11,29 for FL?

How can you finish without a result in long jump? If you miss the marking board by let's say 10 centimeters, it could and should be counted as a 10 cm jump.
The same goes for triple jump, your result is the place where your foot touches the ground for the third time after the line.
The method you describe was used during ancient times when they were running through sand. But next season the board will be gone and they will use a take-off zone instead. I'm unsure whether they will measure the distance from the exact take-off spot though?

Kamila Licwinko said all the athletes were convinced the qualifying was over after 14 athletes cleared 1,92m but the judges specifically wanted to drop two more so forced the competition to go on. Bad luck for Spencer & Trost here.
Btw, the new graphics is uber trash. Like mentioned before, they don't even bother listing athletes first names before the start or during the introductions

Palyste is eliminated
I believe she was carrying some injury this season anyway?

Morgan Lake out in the high jump.

Canadian with 9:30,01 is the last lucky loser, the Brit with 9:30.13 is out.

Yes, I know. The irony is that the Ancient Greeks themselves thought the Macedonians were barbarian non-Greeks.
Macedonia wasn't even drawn into classical Greek matters until 4th century BC. They were outsiders to begin with

Colleen Quigley has a hip injury and DNS.

It's a complicated political thing involving the Greeks. They don't want to have a Slavonic country called simply Macedonia because Macedonia was part of Ancient Greece and I think it is a local region in Greece as well.
It's a historical land with majority of it within modern Greece borders.

Krause was still safe given we have 6 lucky losers and this was a much faster heat.

I remember a few years back the Aussie Vaulter Steve Hooper won the World Championship with just two vaults, one in qualifying, one in the final. Had an ankle injury.
I believe it was three vaults in total. He had one failure in qualifying IIRC

No, she did not. Even worse are the kind of people who blabber on about how Semenya and co are cheaters, that's disgusting.
It's not about cheating because that's doping, it's about unfair advantage. I'm so glad IAAF has clamped down on this bullshit. That's one thing I can praise Sebastian Coe for

I don't have a lot of good feelings for Semenya haters, period
I find it refreshing Semenya, Wambui & Niyonsaba are all OUT of here. Good riddance.
Let's don't pretend it's all about Semenya because the other two were equally repulsive tbh. Melissa Bishop got flat out robbed in Rio.

Semenya-hater Sharp is out already?
What about being both Semenya & Sharp hater?

The Dutch Antilles guy from Pre-Q beats American & the Brit

Lynsey Sharp OUT!!!

The final heat was uber slow! What a blunder for the lucky losers!

Sabat is not even in semifinals
What disaster, she could qualify for the final...
I didn't expect her to make the SF. She only got a wild card invitation last Friday.

How can it be difficult to know where a country like Afghanistan is? I mean, come on, it's been in the news for almost 20 years
More like 40 given the Soviet invasion
Eykens & Gajanova completely run out of the first 800m heat.

Pride comes before the fall. Everyone over here was talking BS how easy this tournament is and we're strolling along. Well, there you go.

Malachowski threatens he will retire after the Military Games: "No need to waste taxpayers money for 62 meters".
I thought he would hang on until Tokyo tbh. But he is quite clearly done as elite competitor.
