Medvedev is future no.1 and Nadal will surpass Roger in grandslams(and so will Djoko)

Federer hasn't won US Open in over a decade and he only won RG once because Soderling did the dirty laundry for him. He's somewhat lucky he kinda owned Roddick's ass before Djokovic & Nadal came along. He's been a non-entity at 2/4 Slams the past decade tbh.

  2. So, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Browns Browns'ed their way into a blowout loss (felt like watching the Raiders there will all these penalties tbh), Jets gave the Bills of all teams their biggest comeback since 1997 and the Lions somehow injected life into Kingsbury & Murray Air Raid offense that was dead for three quarters. I mean the Lions really blew it. Hockenson looked like the second coming of Gronk but they threw Cardinals a lifeline and that was pathetic tbh.

Dolphins are tanking like expected, they made Lamara Jackson look like Patrick Mahomes ffs. Better ask Tua what number will he wear next season bc #13 is retired in Miami last time I checked

PS. Tomlin's zone defense once again lays down and gets spanked by Tommy B.

@bmo I don’t watch a lot of American Football, but Army v. Michigan was a great games. Army have really turned themselves around in the last decade. When I was in grade school, the were lucky to win 5-7 games a season.

Army's triple option seems to be doing well over the past few years tbh. If Michigan needed 2OT to put them away, Ohio State will blow out Michigan even without Urban Mayer.

Btw, some conspiracy theories appearing that AB wanted out of Oakland all along and just needed an excuse to get cut. No way Steelers would have originally traded him to Patriots to begin with but it was out of their control now.

As a Raiders fan, I don't care anymore. If AB & Pats had contact behind the scenes he was never going to play a down with Raiders in first place.

No, the best Rugby Sevens players so up. 7s and 15s are too different things. I quite like the 7s format more than the 15s and that’s my opinion. However, I think 7s players are just as deserving of an Olympic spot as 15s. I don’t think Rugby’s been tampered with at all.

But it's the inferior version of rugby to begin with. If they put 3x3 basketball into the Oympics would it mean as much as the classic 5x5 game with all the NBA stars? Of course not. Let's not pretend the sevens is a completely new sport.

Yes, I’m aware of that. However, many of the world’s best players will still show up. I only know the names of players with Olympic medals or multiple grand slam titles.

I’d put Football as first by the way. Then Baseball, then Tennis, then Golf, then Basketball. Those are the main offenders. However, I believe only Baseball and Football should be kicked from the Olympics.

Olympics men's football is for U-23 players tbh so it's castrated by default. Most of the global stars don't even have a chance to play at the Olympics due to the age restrictions. The same applies to rugby sevens. I'm not gonna mention that either because it's a castrated version of the sport being played at the Olympics.

True, but winning a gold is such a unique experience. For most Americans here winning gold twice would be on par with her winning 24 grand slams. Gold Medalists are just held in great regard in the US

No, no and no. Tennis is one of these Olympic sports where Olympics are NOT the most important event out there. Golf is obviously the second and baseball the third.

Right of course, but another Olympic gold would solidify Serena as one of the greats. It would also make her advertising deals just a bit better, even if she makes the record.

Of topic question here: Is the Olympics considered a Grand Slam by people, or is it in a special catagory to tennis fans?

Olympic gold medal is waaaay below any of the Grand Slam titles. Only ones hyping it are the ones who never won a GS but have won the gold medal (Elena Dementieva). This isn't even close.

I tell you, don't believe in the second gold medal talk. Serena wants Court's record and NOTHING else.

Serena wants gold in Tokyo from what I understand. She’s putting in a lot of work to make it happen. Wouldn’t be surprised if she retires if she wins or gets a medal.

She wants Margaret Court's GS singles titles record (24) first and foremost. She has the Olympic gold already.

Federer (102) wants Jimmy Connors all-time ATP singles titles record (109).

Everything else is just PR, smoke & mirrors.

Obviously I was cheering for Andreescu tonight. I'm tired of watching Serena winning titles for 20 years

Great finals line-up in women's doubles too :cheer:

    Azarenka/Barty vs. Sabalenka/Mertens

Not a single doubles speciallist here allthough Barty cut her teeth with Dellacqua before and Azarenka has won a mixed GS IIRC.

My team is New Orleans Saints. I started watching NFL back in 2004 and I decided to pick a team who had a so-so record from 2003. I saw Saints had a 8-8 record for 2003, so I chose them. It was mainly because New Orleans Saints sounded like a cool name. :p Katrina then happened in 2005, which made me see how much football meant for this city, so my support grew. Since I have enjoyed seeing Payton and Brees create magic on offense and the highlight was of course the SB victory in the 2009 season.

To be honest I do prefer teams with a great defense, which Saints usually don't have, so I also mini-support Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens. Bears is based on clips I have seen of their defense from 80's. With Ravens it is one person, Ray Lewis.

Ray fuckin' Lewis? The same guy who got away with at the very least accessory to murder? You must be the only person outside of Baltimore who likes this guy :p

I hate that your team has a better Super Bowl record than mine.

95% of the league has a better SB record than the Lions :coffee: Not gonna play Daisy Downer but I think the Texans will reach SB sooner than those Lions. And who knows what happens with the Browns within the next 3-4 years? Tom Brady ain't gonna block the AFC path forever

Btw, I see the Tigers have even a worse record than the Orioles this season? Back to the basement for those guys again?

It's not about him winning 3 golds.  Its about shattering 3 world records in such a way.

Records are meant to be broken after all. Actually his long stride helped him to beat those records even if he was always last from the blocks. It also helped Kevin Young to set the 400m hurdles record, he had incredibly long legs and still nobody can match his 12 stride pattern some 25 years later. 400m hurdles isn't about speed, it's about endurance & technique.
