  1. I bet they are. Just not in the parts of Europe where I live though
  2. @hckošiceSki jumping is a low-hanging fruit but I guess not enough Slovakians want to swap ice hockey for ski jumping. The ghosts of Martin Mesik live on
  3. That's Strbske Pleso? @hckošice
  4. Women's ski jumping is not competitive enough to conduct a large hill competition. Some women had trouble of reaching 90 meters at Willingen for crying out loud. Normal hills have been phased out from World Cup in the last 30 years or so but the best technicians usually prevail and have a better shot for medals than at large hills. Ski jumping isn't freestyle, it's way more difficult sport and thankfully it's hardly present in USA & Canada so those calls for equality will be very weak if any. I mean the way US female ski jumping collapsed in the last 5-6 years is truly something else. They have completely punted on a sport they dominated literally 10 years ago.
  5. Nobody knows tbh Yeah, the state of Czech ski jumping reflects the state of the Harrachov complex right now.
  6. Filip Sakala brings the Sakala name into disrepute
  7. It's the same old problem. I have no clue how the scoring works and if a 720 is worth more than a backflip or whatever else. It's hard to casually follow a sport if you don't know the damn scoring system. In archery or shooting it's simple, 10 > 9 and no room for discussion so you can tune in and sort of enjoy it straight away
  8. That would be normal in Poland. It's either ski jumping or women's ice hockey. Easy choice. Even ES2 shows a figure skating re-run from last night instead of women's hockey. Boyd-Clowes 100,5 meters. That's actually impressive for him.
  9. Looks like I undervalued the goal difference for Canada. Not looking great for competition again if the best non-CAN/USA team gets blown out like that. Anyway, women's ice hockey is way too predictable to offer any excitement. Just skip the jazz to the mandatory CAN vs USA final.
  10. Patrick Gasienica 68 meters. Yeah, tell me again how he was picked ahead of Decker Dean. This caterpillar is SLOW!
  11. I wouldn't recognize a "best run" from a "training run" anyway. Maybe some X Games freaks know better but majority of this forum probably doesn't follow slopestyle in between the Olympics. It's the winter version of archery
  12. Can you spell the word "wind"? It will be a long day for the ski jumpers
  13. Former world champion Miyabi Onitsuka goes out.
  14. Sadowski-Synnott 86.75.
  15. Julia Marino had a crash on the first gate moment?
  16. Tess Coady with a nervous run. 55.98 is a low score?
  17. gives up the match at 1-6 despite a last stone in the 7th. Would be 1-9 otherwise. A complete shambles here.
  18. Jenny Perret with a miss of the tournament. A simple single take out for 2 points and she misses the stone alltogether. Instead of 4-3 it's 5-1
  19. Unless the Italian organizers have released some info about exact timing of the events I see no reason to believe @phelps is 100% right but maybe he knows something we don't NBC might have their way with summer Olympics but nobody in Norway is getting up at 3 am to watch cross country under the floodlights. SLC will have all non-US strong events during daytime. Ski jumping, biathlon & cross country being prime examples.
  20. Jeszcze inna sprawa, na stronie biathlon.pl stoi, że TVP wykupiło prawa na wyłączność do PŚ w biathlonie od przyszłego sezonu. Czyli już nie będzie na Eurosporcie?
  21. Yeah, I recall the ski jumping and aerials under the lights in 2006. Italy is a country where they have that mid-day siesta period so they would be more destined to hosting more events at nights. Hosting night events at SLC would be terrible for European audiences, I suspect in 2030 they will only host some US-strong freestyle events to ignore the European demands. But events like ski jumping will be held in local daylight to please the European market IMO.
  22. Speaking of media attention, Janine Flock has posed for Playboy. Also Lisa Buckwitz (bobsleigh) for the German version.
  23. Natalia Maliszewska has been released from isolation
  24. It also helps Bogataj had the best jumps in NH training. Althaus, Bogataj & Kriznar with the best performance in training overall. Wouldn't be surprised if that is the podium tomorrow. The only question is the order. Frida Westman Top 10 in both trainings and could be a minor shock if she gets into Top 10 when it matters. A lot of Polish fans cheer for the revival of Swedish ski jumping
