3x3 basketball is Mongolia's national sport.

As funny as that is, traditional wrestling and archery are the recognized national sports of Mongolia.

Apparently Mongolia didn't host any tournaments both yesterday and today! :yikes:

Some controversial rumors suggest that the players were given a... break.

"The show will include performances from several Japanese artists, including freestyler BUG?!, the Brexy Dance Team, Awich and kZm from RUN THE FLOOR, who produced the official song of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Utsunomiya Final. It will be attended by FIBA President Hamane Niang and FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis."

Apparently the Brexit Dance Team will perform at much-anticipated ilve show. :cheer:

They didn't call B-boy Bumblebee to perform on stage, I'm disappointed.:(

Anyway for direct qualification anything different than: :RUS :CHN :MGL :ROU for women and :JPN :SRB :RUS :CHN for men would be a big surprise.

Well besides Mongolia, we’re getting some highly competitive teams. The OQT should be interesting. I have 3x3 tickets, so hopefully I’ll get to see Mongolia.

I was bored, here is what the top 10 would look like if we only used the top 4 players from each nation (I only looked at the top 1000 players).

Men

1.   :SRB Serbia - 6,234,720

2.   :LAT Latvia - 6,036,160

3.   :USA United States - 4,971,879

4.   :SLO Slovenia - 4,555,680

5.   :LTU Lithuania - 4,475,760

6.   :CAN Canada - 4,006,120

7.   :NED Netherlands - 3,964,080

8.   :RUS Russia - 3,162,320

9.   :MGL Mongolia - 2,714,920

10. :SUI Switzerland - 2,519,560

Women

1.   :FRA France - 2,176,360

2.   :CAN Canada - 1,549,480

3.   :RUS Russia - 1,438,010

4.   :ITA Italy - 1,393,680

5.   :CHN China - 1,389,720

6.   :ESP Spain - 1,361,900

7.   :NED Netherlands - 1,264,200

8.   :POL Poland - 1,150,100

9.   :JPN Japan - 1,121,503

10. :USA United States - 1,012,950

Both genders only have one team (Serbia and Russia) which overlaps with the current ranking list. Additionally, the host quota would go to the women. For those curious, in the men's ranking China is ranked 12th while Japan is ranked 14th and in the women's rankings Romania is 13th while Mongolia is 17th.

I'm surprised how well Canada is doing, though I knew they were trying to send a quality team. Hopefully they will compete in the qualification tournament, though it will be hard to defeat the European teams.

The women have been performing well. They have won quite a few tournaments.

Just to be clear, what will be announced today? The 3-4 teams qualifying via the ranking, or also which teams qualify for the OQT?

    • Playa del Carmen Elite16   Women’s Tournament Gold-  Carol Solberg/Rebecca Cavalcanti Silver-  Terese Cannon/Megan Kraft Bronze-  Kristen Nuss/Taryn Brasher   Shoutout to my new favourite pairing of Hüberli/Kernen, who have backed up their silver at the Yucatán Challenge by recording a quarterfinal finish here by defeating Olympic Champions  Duda/Ana Patricia in straight sets in the round of 12 (to be fair, they looked off all event long, but they also beat Nuss/Brasher). This team definitely has what it takes to be a top 5 team and consistently contending for medals. First time watching Kernen play, all I can say is how is she that good at only 19? She’s gonna be a star in the future.    Men’s Tournament Gold-  Noslen Diaz/Jorge Alayo  Silver-  Tomas Capogrosso/Nicolas Capogrosso  Bronze-  Chaim Schalk/James Shaw    Schalk/Shaw defeated Olympic champions  Ahman/Hellvig in the quarterfinals   Full Results

    • So I was watching a replay of China-Germany in between Canada’s game against Sweden and this one against Italy and… it seems like China cheated during it which could’ve been critical in them winning the match?    During the 1st end, Xu with his last rock had an easy hit for the single against three German stones. One of the sweepers for China (I can’t tell which one, this team is quite new to me) “accidentally” kicked their own stone, which redirected one of their own stones into the rings, and Germany only got the steal of 2. HIS FUCKING FOOT IS TOUCHING THE ROCK   Now after, Team Xu was claiming that the stone was picked (it was not) and Muskatewitz was arguing that it couldn’t possibly have been picked. China wouldn’t admit it, and they ended up winning the game 10-9. BOO.    Hope these cheaters don’t qualify for the Olympics.
    • Edin usually has mediocre seasons though (that being said this has been worse than usual), then really starts to show up for Worlds. He’s only won 4 GSOC events in his career.     They’re at a 4-2 record at the moment, so seems to be the case again. Plus, they played really well in their loss to Canada.

    • With a week to go till the deadline for the world invitational, the rosters look beefy for the discus on both sides.24 entries for the men[19 accepted in so far] and 25 for the women[18 accepted so far] For the men so far there are three 70 meter throwers[i count Denny as that since it's just 4 centimeters off his pb]10 from mid 66 to low 69,three of 65 and over, four from almost 64 to almost 65.On the women's side the 18 accepted throwers all have a pb of over 60 meters.11 of them have  pbs over 64 plus.of the ones still not there besides Valerie and Yaime who have been marketed so i can only assume they will join, such names as  Sandra Elkasevic,Bin Feng, and jordine van klinken aren't signed up yet, jordine's probably the most likely of them to join in tough feng would be a cool surprise,i somehow don't see Sandra doing this, but it would be awesome if she did.Stahl and ceh aren't in yet on the men's side, ceh has been marketed while stahl hasn't been mentioned at all,[pretty sure stahl will not be there],Lukas[last name is too wild for me to even try] and lawrence okoye aren't there yet either but i'm betting both will be joining in.
