Canadian PM Justin Trudeau got scared of the truck drivers' anti-COVID restrictions protests and left Ottawa for 'safety reasons' :sure:

Given their stated goal (per their own MoU) is essentially to overthrow the government and abolish the Canadian constitution, not that crazy. The people running this either have no idea what the implications of their MoU are, or they are just crazy.

All MPs were advised to stay away from Parliament Hill.

Every street protests are usually anti-government. What else is new? I see Trudeau is made soft if he is scared of truck drivers. If he really called them "small, fringe minority" and then left the city, that is downright cowardly indeed.

For the past one year, so many Canadian politicians, including Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh, have been supporting such protests in India. Hopefully, these protests show them how wrong they were and they think twice before supporting anarchy in other democracies.

The fuel "games" have begun here. Prices up 20% and climbing with every day. Lines forming and reserves being made. And in a week, the holy rule of "When fuel price goes up, price of everything else goes up as well" will kick in and then watch the public's opinion with interest. Waiting for the warm weather to come, to go full Netherlands with the bikes from now on it seems. :cycling:

And also our first ethnic Tibetan Olympic Champion.

That sure must be big thing and maybe celebrated across China just like the chinese celebrate human rights abuses against those Tibetans be it in forced abortion, Sterrilization, physical and sexual abuse, genocides etc.

So much so that Koeyang Chi, the Tibetian who is now the Olympic Champion in women's 20k doesn't exist anymore. Even her identity has been snubbed and made chinese to Qieyang Shijie just like entire Tibet population whose identity is supressed.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
