MantaRaymarc 76 Posted April 14, 2016 Author #142 Share Posted April 14, 2016 If an NOC has more than 2 athletes of the same gender among the winners of the 8 groups in Stage 1 (including the 2015 European Games Qualifier), the qualifiers for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be in the following order: 1) The already confirmed 2015 European Games Qualifier (if any) 2) The highest ranked player/s at the time of the draw of the Qualification Event among the winners of the 8 groups in Stage 1, up to a maximum of 2 (including the 2015 European Games Qualifier) Note: The third player of that NOC will be the first reserve for that NOC if either of the 2 qualifiers are not confirmed by their NOC, or are unable to participate (cancellation) before the deadline for replacements. Winning places from Group A to C in the women's singles were awarded to Germany. Because a maximum of two table tennis players is allowed in the competition, who among the 2015 European Games players will get the unused berth freed by the Germans? It's possible, but of course normally the Asians will dominate the medal table If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! EselTheDonkey 730 Posted April 14, 2016 #144 Share Posted April 14, 2016 Germany won two medals in London, and our women have become better since then. Okay, 2/3 of the reasons why our women have become better are from China. But still, they do have a good chance in the team event. As do our men and Ovtcharov in the single event. I forgot, China won't win 2 medals in the women's team event of course Well clearly if there is a non-Asian country that could win 1 or even 2 medals, it's Germany.
