It's true, but Colturi still only 1 person and for example in the men's slalom we have tragic results. In giant slalom again we last won many years ago. For example, Switzerland has a complete team, which has not only stars but also wide teams in every discipline + young successors.

Scattolo is an option after 2026. For now, all that remains is to count on Vittozzi's return - apart from her, no one is able to regularly stand on the podium.

I don’t think that Scattolo would be slower/less competitive than multiple of your current starters, so as an Italian Coach I would Definitely give her a Chance in The World Cup.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Will be interesting To see if younger athletes Like Grotian or Tannheimer can keep their skiing speed After The christmas Break. In The Past younger athletes Like Grotian or Elvira Öberg often Lost their Speed over The Break.

Also interesting To see that Julia Kink is faster than Selina Grotian was last year, so hopefully Next year she will reach The Level that Grotian currently Has. I feel that Kink so far didn‘t get The results she would have Been Capable of.

I think Julia Tannheimer will continue to perform so well on the flatter courses in Ruhpolding and Antholz, which will suit her technique. Oberhof will be more exciting, the courses are very demanding, but quite comparable to the World Championships in Lenzerheide. That's why I'm really looking forward to Oberhof this season. Anyone who can cope well with the courses in Oberhof should also be able to run at the front at the World Championships.

speaking of the :ITA team

Ilaria Scattolo will make her World Cup debut in Oberhof :cheer:

meanwhile, Hannah Auchentaller (flu) will miss at least the Sprint and the Pursuit races...and likely the entire weekend (they would be stupid to let her ski out of shape in the useless mixed relays on Sunday)

Speaking of depth, :FRA Chloe Chevalier announced her retirement. She'd be like Top 3 athlete in 90% of nations competing in World Cup alas she was stuck in IBU Cup recently and apparently her chances of going back to top tier were non-existent?

I remember that Germany lost a whole generation of good athletes that way.  All were world class, all retired at age 24 or so.
