WOW what back to back days for us   Todorova has been doing very well this season, but i would be lying if i was expecting her to get a podium. Like mentioned, our first women's podium since Ekaterina Dafovska was fighting for the overall WC in 2003. :)

A win in snowboard, a win in alpine, a podium in biathlon, guess it's time for Zografski to get a podium in ski-jumping

I remember that Germany lost a whole generation of good athletes that way.  All were world class, all retired at age 24 or so.

It's strange that he isn't looking for some other squad for himself, e.g. Switzerland, Austria or even Italy?

Only 2/6 swedes yesterday had more than 5 hits, Magnusson and Skotheim with 6/10:facepalm:Heijdenberg so many that she couldn't count them all and took one  lap to less

It feels like the Swedes are shooting worse from year to year :mumble:

Unfortunately the Italian men's team is poorly prepared for the season. Everyone is in terrible shooting form. Somewhere a mistake was made in the preparations. We are recording a big regression compared to the previous season. It`s becoming more and more likely that we will not stand on the podium even once this season (I can't remember the last time something like that happened). In the Nations Cup we are in 6th place and we may lose 6 starting places in the World Cup from next season. I`m increasingly worried about what will happen in the Olympic season. Without Vittozzi returning to top form, we completly will not count.

In general our entire winter season looks very bad: biathlon as above, cross-country skiing - still only Pellegrino, luge - poor form, alpine skiing without Goggia and Brignone doesn`t exist.

It's amazing to see a podium composed only of biathletes who had never been on the podium before! Congratulations to them, especially in these "Oberhofian" conditions

The last time this happened - all three athletes on the podium had zero podiums before - was Les Saisies sprint in December 1990: Uschi Disl, Elena Melnikova (future Sergei Tchepikov's wife) & Kerstin Moring. The latter two never finished on the World Cup podium again. This was also the race where Disl became the second youngest World Cup winner ever (currently down to third because of Neuner).

I feel like the shooting coaches are doing something terribly wrong. A good example is Hanna Öberg who started her career as best in the individual event (where shooting is more important) winning 1 olympic and 2 world titles despite not being a very good skiier. Suddenly she was one of the better skiiers (not this season) but very unstable shooter.

i think they practice to little on competition-like circumstances and too little in bad weather conditions too. And maybe need mental help. The coaches when interviewed have been talking for years how good Ponsilouma is at shooting both during off-season training and in the pre-race warm up shooting. Still terrible shooter in competition even if some of his very few successes have been in the most important races

    • yesterdays' results:  VS  26-31 Very good result for  to qualify to the main round, the team improved (but not to compete with the high level yet).  is a fast and rapid team but lacking the strength and good defense.    VS  29-29, great game from both giants,  finished the first half 16-11 but a great comeback from  in second half with special thanks to Alex Dujshebev who scored in the last 6 seconds and to Dujshebev junior (Daniel) who saved the long shot from the center to secure the draw in a thriller game. De Vargas (  GK) did one great moment in the game when he saved a penalty and the Ref gave the Swedish player Hampus a red card thinking it came straight to De Vargas face but the GK told the ref it came to his hand asking the ref to cancel the red card in a great moment  (at that time the score was 20-14 to Sweden)      VS  28-38, great game from the African side,  is a big question mark, in 1999 Wch they finished 8th and since then the team performance was keep going down (decent number of players switched nationalities),  was leading the game from start till the end and secure a historical qualify to the main round.    VS  18-23, is it a surprise? ..yes and no ..  should be the more favorable side but their performance even in the European qualification was not great..  beat  in European qualification with 1 goal difference in a very tough game.  was performing very well from the beginning finishing the 1st half 14-8,  GK get the credit for such brilliant result.
