Quota Time Trial Women's

:USA :GBR :AUT :NED :AUS :GER :POL :FRA :SLO :DEN

So compared to Tokyo, :CAN are the only nation to lose their 2nd rider whilst :GBR :AUT :POL :FRA & :DEN will all gain a second rider in the time trial.

:SLO are currently in a position which would allow them to send a second rider for the time trial but to only have 1 rider in the road race.

Very nice gold in the U23 category for 20 year old Antonia Niedermaier. Apparently her goal is to also compete in sky mountaineering at the 2026 winter olympics.

yes because there will be more cyclists on this women's time trial than in Tokyo and that's good news.. italy and switzerland surprised me no quota, and Juliette Labous who finished 5th nice surprise let's hope that france wins the maximum quota online but that would be a feat

Yeah, the quota here was a nice “steal” for them.

Just catching up on the results from the Junior Time Trial earlier today and realised that Ben Wiggins, son of :GBR most successful Olympian Sir Bradley Wiggins, won silver. Wonder if we'll be seeing him at a future Olympics.

Also :WAL teen phenom Josh “Sam” :p Tarling just took bronze, which should guarantee S4C :WAL coverage of the TdF for the next fifteen years or so.  :roflmao:

    • For the summary and lowlights of Thailand's preparation in hosting the ongoing Sea Games, I kindly suggest those who are interested to read from this English language article from Thai media outlet, Thai Enquirer: https://www.thaienquirer.com/63469/thailands-sea-games-2025-under-fire-budget-management-and-technical-controversies/
    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
    • After looking at the entry list of athletes in the official website, I've changed some of my predictions in the Olympic events with these changes:   Total Tally: Thailand 87, Singapore 51, Vietnam 48, Indonesia 33, Philippines 24, Malaysia 22, Cambodia 1     Badminton (5): Malaysia 2, Thailand 1, Singapore 1, Indonesia 1   Men’s Singles: Switched from Thailand to Singapore     Boxing (11): Thailand 8, Philippines 2, Vietnam 1   Men: -54 kg (-55 kg): Thailand, -60 kg: Thailand, -63.5 kg (-65 kg): Thailand, -69 kg (-70 kg): Thailand, -80 kg: Philippines   Women: -50 kg (-51 kg): Thailand, -54 kg: Thailand, -57 kg: Thailand, -60 kg: Vietnam, -66 kg (-65 kg): Thailand, -70 kg: Philippines     Sailing (7): Thailand 4, Singapore 2, Malaysia 1   ICLA 6: Switched from Thailand to Malaysia     Taekwondo (8): Thailand 6, Vietnam 2   -67 kg: Switched from  Vietnam to Thailand     Weightlifting (5): Thailand 2, Philippines 1, Indonesia 1, Malaysia 1   Men: -65 kg: Malaysia, -94 kg (-95 kg): Thailand   Women: -53 kg: Thailand, -69 kg: Philippines, -77 kg: Indonesia   * I saw that they have actually change the weight categories to almost match that of IWF newly introduced categories from several months ago.      Wrestling (12): Vietnam 7, Philippines 3, Indonesia 2   Men's Freestyle: -57 kg: Philippines, -65 kg: Vietnam, -74 kg: Vietnam, -86 kg: Philippines Men's Greco-Roman: -67 kg: Indonesia, -77 kg: Vietnam, -87 kg: Indonesia, -97 kg: Vietnam Women's Freestyle: -50 kg: Vietnam, -53 kg: Vietnam, -57 kg: Vietnam, -62 kg: Philippines
    • Many permutations possible in the last game, going to be a nail-biter!  v  is the live game on the Olympic Channel later today.   2025 WCF Curling Olympic Qualification Event – Kelowna, Canada   Team   Wins   Losses   Men       CHN 6   0     P USA 5   1     P JPN 4   2     NED 3   3     PHI 3   3     KOR 2   4     NZL 1   5     POL 0   6
    • This is absolutely ridiculous. If you aren’t willing to celebrate Pride then you should simply not come to Seattle. You have to respect local customs.   https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c208392884jo
