No. It's been added for 2020, not for the Games after that. Of course it's possible, but that would need entirely new procedures.

New IOC procedures, what a big challenge that would be.  Especially if LA wins 2024.

Is this official? None of those sports should be olympic, maybe except for skatebording. None of those sports really adds anything to the olympic games and they are either extremely underdeveloped or the best athletes wont compete.

We for sure didnt need another team sport, where only 3 or 4 teams will fight for a medal or the 10th fighting sport. I can already tell 100% that i wont follow those sports in 2020.

Surfing could be interesting, although we already have sailing at the olympics.

What will be next? Futsal, beach handball, squash or parcours?

The only reasonable explanation for everything IOC did in the last couple of weeks is that they try to destroy the olympics. This is completely contradictory to what they actually wanted to do and i can already tell that Bach is the worst president in the history of the IOC. Olympic games and olympic medals used to be something special, but in the future olympic medals will become completely random, because even hobby athletes will be able to win some.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

My proposal for Baseball/Softball qualification:

Japan

1 Asia

1 Oceania

1 Europe + Africa

2 Pan American

The ideal thing would be to just qualify the best 5 from world championships though.

well, this is one of the things that have already been decided...

it will be JPN + the best from each Continent among those ones who will make it to Super 12 tournament 2019 (and that tournament will only feature the top 12 nations in the world ranking, with no geographical protection)...

if less than 5 continental zones wll make it to super 12 2012, then they will take into account the best team from that tournament, even if they come from an already qualified continent)...

We shouldn't forget about Cuba in baseball :d

well, they're no longer the powerhouse they used to be...and if the MLB stars will enter the qualifying tournament (which is highly unlikey, however), probably they won't even qualify for the Games...

That's fantastic then, no Africa.

What are the european chances of making that competition?

Sorry for Africa, but if there are only 6 spots and there is no African nation coming remotely close to that level, then there should definitely not be a special protection for Africa..

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

It's quite crazy that the IOC will consider (let alone give the green light) a sport of which a large part of its community is vehemently against its inclusion to the Olympics.

What doest it says about the IOC ? Are they really that desesperate to appeal to a new audience ? It's the mother fucking oltmpics for god's sake. Sports should be desesperate to be included not the other way around.
