LDOG got a reaction from biyeta in Juegos Sudamericanos de la juventud Panama

LDOG got a reaction from konig in South American Youth Games 2026
She made 54-something in the 100 FR mixed relay. Would've also won the gold in the individual 100m contested earlier in the session had she entered it.

Two gold medals for Agostina Hein with two new (senior) south american records!
8:22:01 in 800 FR and 2:10:82 in 200 IM.
(she did the IM only 10 minutes after racing the 800)

Hein already with a SA junior record in the heat of 200IM very close to the senior record of Maranhão.

I'd really like to understand what's the mentality behind these shameless purchases from Turkey and other neighbouring countries.
Do they feel any pride when they win? Does it bring any profit in terms of 'soft power' to win by doing this when everyone else in the world thinks you're cheating?

A little of topic: in my city google maps confuse a statue of the argentinian ex president Raul Alfonsin with Saddam Hussein, so in google maps some weeks ago apears "monument of Saddam Hussein", after the qualifyng of Irak to the world cup, we have a place to celebrate was a joke comented here.

The turning point of portuguese football started with their 1989 & 1991 youth world cup wins. That generation of Figo, Rui Costa, etc. Before that they had only produced elite players very sporadically (and even the greatest, Eusebio, grew up in Mozambique).

Never played myself but watched videos of competitive players. Guys watching some traffic lights and saying 'yeah, this is inner Mongolia" and so on.

LDOG got a reaction from konig in Alpine Skiing at the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026
No doubt we'll see some western european dude win a medal for Africa at some point. Probably sooner than we think.

Those european athletes I was thinking about, presumably, would've african ancestry. I believe the usual suspects of "shopping" aren't in Africa anyway.

Trump just now seems to be implying they've control of the country. We'll see...
I read some people saying that the videos of Cabello and the others could have been pre-recorded and that they're actually in hiding.

Junior world cups ended this week.
The Men's competition, hosted by India, was won by Germany (shoot-out win over Spain after 1-1 draw). Second title in a row for them. Bronze for India (4-2 over Argentina).
The Women's competition, hosted by Chile, was won by Netherlands (2-1 win over Argentina). Third title in a row for them and 5th of the last six in dispute. Bronze for Belgium (5-1 over China).

LDOG got a reaction from Josh in Hockey FIH Pro League 2025 - 2026
After reading the qualification system document and assuming Argentina (M or W) takes a pro league quota, then:
Case a: if USA wins pan american tournament and ARG finishes 2nd, then 3rd placed team doesn't take the continental quota. It's reallocated to world qualifiers.
Case b: if ARG wins pan american tournament and USA finishes 2nd, then 3rd placed does take the quota.
Did I understand correctly?
Honestly don't know why FIH wanted a different criteria for these two cases.

I will never understand why do they think that we need musical performances in draws. Nobody cares, not the people at the building, not us watching it. WHY
