Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2022 - 2023

Recommended Posts

No way they're moving the NA races before the Thanksgiving weekend IMO. Early December dates in Europe were also often compromised, it just so happens that most countries have the best winter conditions around the same time. You can stage races in March in the arctic parts of Sweden, Finland and Norway. As for expanding the calendar, well, as long as Shiffrin doesn't retire US TV might be interested in carrying the coverage. If only she hangs it up then I can see a World Cup calendar with zero NA races.

The women's races in Cervinia have also been cancelled, even though they were for next week.

FIS's idea for a new Grande opening to the WC is going, going, gone...

Cervinia_Zermatt has been cancelled for both men (this week) and women (next week). No freaking snow anywhere? I am starting to feel that we may be able to see even 2-3 weekends at one spot. Not only talking about Alpine Skiing.

In more shocking news, the parallel events in Lech/Zuers have also been cancelled.

Can someone from Finland, Canada and USA please say they have snow.

Mammoth Mountain (the one regularly used on the free ski/snowboard tour) has already opened for the season after getting some early season snow. It usually opens around this time anyway.

Cancellations because of too much snow in one place and too little in others. Ugh, get it right, weather gods :p

Max Franz broke both of his legs in training. Is out for the entire season. Will see how this effects his career as he is already 33.
