In the end, I think the best we'll do is to challenge the Canadians for 4th position, but that's mostly due to the fact your NOC have always treated Pan American Games as a third class competition in half the sports. Or does the country now have other priorities that the state have neglected and are finally given the attention it needed after so many years? I am sure the NOC would like to field their best teams, but its mostly the NFs that are really stupid. Global sport becoming increasingly professional + lack of modern equipment necessary to train properly in many sports + big exodus of not only athletes but also coaches.
