Sure, I used Geng as a benchmark for international comparison since we don't have any way to evaluate how the Chinese athlete will fare against the likes of Dukurs or Tretiakov.

Btw do you have links for this results ?

I just knew the ranking from the news and Geng ranked 3rd. But I don’t have know the finishing time and the video is not revealed.

Yeah bro. She mentioned that she felt her body does not listen to her this season. Went for blood test before the Games and found oit she has diabetes type 1. She does not give up Olympic dream in Czech colors but she will decide the further steps after the Games....

Ok, it's time for an inspirational story.

American swimmer, Gary Hall Jr was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1999. He took a short break from competitive swimming, then he returned and went on to win Olympic gold in the 50 freestyle, in both 2000 and 2004. To date, he is one of only two men who has successfully defended an Olympic title in the 50 freestyle. He also won several medals in relays.

Obviously, I'm not posting this to raise expectations about Fernstadt, but to show an example, that nothing is impossible in sport. Of course, Fernstadt will do what is best for her health. Just don't give up hope that she might continue her career.

British rowing legend Steve Redgrave also won Gold after a diabetes diagnosis. There is, or was, an American all-diabetic pro cycling team we saw sometimes when the World Tour visited the US.  Also an American cross country skier, can’t remember who.  So no need to be in despair.

Unlike Tannenbaum’s :ISV case last cycle, which looked to add an additional quota so as to not punish any of the other sliders, Henry :USA is actively appealing to take the quota given to Tannenbaum.

She has a very good point. ATP they should let both compete and cut their loses and claim more women competed than men, which ofc would wet Thomas Bach :p

Novo Nordisk is the cycling team. Not exactly a succesful one, but obviously good for inspiration in terms of being able to have a sports career.

Michal Jelinski, rowing Olympic champion from 2008 also has type 1 diabetes and nobody cares about that. I don't understand this diabetes craze that is supposedly to make their achievements exceptional. I haven't seen this narrative preached outside of US media tbh.

    • By the way. It looks like no AIN`s will be in biathlon by the start of the Olympics. Russians filed an appeal to CAS to get AIN statuses in biathlon. But IBU did not agree to have hearings with short procedure. So the decisons are not expected before the end of qulifying period. (FIS could do the same but its top-officials prefer to help russians be back as quick as possible).   I would like to see Dolidovich at the Games. Because she is a real refugee of the relatively high level.

    • It’s honestly baffling how bad she was in 2018. Just absolutely lost her head. Real shame too because she is so gifted. I do hope Li Jianrou sends her a Christmas card every year tho, she was absolutely gifted a gold medal by Christie in 2014.
