Considering he has been one of the main guys to fight for the overall win since long before the Tour even started, I highly doubt a secondary prize is anything more than just a sideshow for him :p

Right, it’s just funny that he has a very good chance of winning that jersey without trying to. I’ll give Cosnefroy credit for managing to stay in that jersey so long, while struggling to show any real climbing prowess, but Pogacar would be a more deserving winner (or Hirschi).

The best climber would be the most deserving winner :p Which in my opinion is Pogacar, definitely not Hirschi. I've never been much of a fan of riders who always attack early just to get the points on the early climbs and that way go for the jersey, but I do like attackers who are actually able to make it to the end (like, indeed, Hirschi, but also Lutsenko or Alaphilippe).

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Wonder if Pogacar fancies the Climber’s jersey :p

I hope not. This is the last thing that is left for France. Of course they will probably give the combativity award to some French guy, but they probably also want a jersey to get over the failure of Pinaut.

Maybe Sagan should go for the polka dot in the future? At this point it seems like a more realistic goal for him ...

Here in Britain we call them “the French.”

Damn, everyone makes the same joke.  Go figure! :mumble:

Polka dot jersey, correct me if I'm wrong here, is just a side show designed to make France win something. :dunno:

Yes/no. It’s just a competition for riders less likely to factor into the Yellow/Green jersey battle. I think it’s a fun little sub-competition. I always enjoy the competition between the 2-3 lesser known breakaway riders for jersey.

Yeah, thank the lord Richard Virenque isn't there anymore. Isn't he the confessed doper who's always been super welcome in the Tour de France whereas other, also confessed (but non-French) dopers have been banned to even get near it? :p
