It’s Super Tuesday! I haven’t been this excited about an election ever. Hoping for a big win for two candidates I believe in, and big ass lose for the two I don’t.

It would not be possible at this point. We still don’t have all the venues required, and we haven’t had a enough time to plan.

We judge differently. 1st listen: pass/fail/fail, but will listen another time 2nd listen: pass/fail + scale rating on various qualities 3rd listen: create loose provisional ranking; eliminate the rest 4th listen: head-to-head for final ranking, similar to the fencing bonus round in modern pentathlon. Right, but I also do think the hosts of those games/events should be punished for having a better date. I’m also not a fan of an Olympics not held during the Olympiad. I also maintain my viewpoint that there’s no reason this virus should disrupt the games.

I just wouldn’t be interested at that point. I love the Olympics, but there’s already enough multi-sports games next year. If the Olympics was to cancel those, I probably would have a tough time watching the Olympics.

According to ITG, Tennis and Weightlifting might added back onto the 2021 Pacific Mini Games program. They were cut from the program after budget cuts, but it seems NMI will try to save them yet.

WHO, CDC (and other national equivalents in Europe/Asia) will tell you that soap and water is by far the best method of preventing the spread of this virus.

500 Days To Go!

Real doozy of a request here, but did anyone happen to save/keep/download to desktop/drive/thumbdrive the PDF results from the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games? I’m able to get some stuff off of the way back machine, but it’s really enough to consider the job anywhere near done. I’m hoping the likes of @mrv86 @Rdbc or anyone else can help me out here. If you don’t have them, but may know someone who does, or could give me access to them, I’d be all ears to that as well. My collection of multi-sports games results is coming along nicely. I only collect results from 2008-current (because 2008 is when I first realized these events where a thing, plus PDF technology before that leaves quite a few things to be desired at this point). This is the last “hole” I need to fill in 2018. Currently I have about 48 games worth of complete PDF results. There’s still quite a few results I’d love to have, but that I don’t have any means of obtaining. I’m always open to donations (because I do really want to keep a record for everyone, even if I haven’t found the best way to post them yet).

Seriously, 2020 has already managed to be infinitely worse than 2019 somehow. If Tokyo2020 gets cancelled this officially be my least favorite year.

Yes, this. This is the reason we will fail as a nation. “It’s too big (or too great) to fail.” People say that about democracy, and it’s what we said about the economy in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and then...It failed. People this country don’t seriously realize how lucky we are. They don’t value their vote, and they often don’t participate. We consider an election where 50% of the population votes, and big turnout ?. These factors might actually offer some of explanation for why my generation is swinging so hard left. Think about it. We grew up through the aftermath of 9/11, through two Middle Eastern wars that claimed many of our parents and family members (for practically nothing), a recession that left some of us homeless and most of us without opportunity for half a decade, We then watched in horror as our country elected Trump, we watched with even greater horror as our friends were massacred at schools across the country, and now we’re watching a party fix an election against the candidate we actually believe in (even if that’s good or not). Plus, if that wasn’t enough, we can’t afford college tuition, we’ll all have massive debt, we’re at the mercy of increasingly dangerous climate change, we’ve seen Neo-Nazis march through our streets, and we’ve been left out of an increasingly shrinking job field. So yeah, we’re upset, and no matter what we do, the system won’t change because that’s the true nature of this country. We do nothing for years and years until we’ve kicked the problem down the line so far that something gives, and all hell breaks lose. That’s why Capitalism fails, it allows people to get lazy, and it preaches that only money matters. That is wheel my generation is tasked with breaking, and that party that supposedly represents us, won’t even give us a chance to.

We don’t. Trust in the government, belief the vote matters, and economic satisfaction have all been the lowest they’ve in US history for the last decade or so.

Any Klobachar will drop out of the race in order to give Biden a better chance on Super Tuesday. I hate that the party is going to try everything they can to fix this election for Biden. Progressives can’t ever get anything in this country. Thank the powers that be for California.
