    It’s not like baseball, cricket, or flag football are much better though. I think those four are the “frontrunners” from what I can discern. LA28 has held their cards very close though, so who knows?

    also pulled off a bronze double in the cycling time trials. I hope their cyclists get a little more attention moving forward. They had a great showing at the Commonwealth Games last year, and continental championships earlier this year.

    Participation levels have definitely dropped since 2011, but this event only came together in the last few months, so I guess that isn’t shocking. Opening ceremony in a few hours, although athletics, football, swimming have already begun. leads the medal table after Day -1.

    Although, any country registering multiple failed drug tests after a doping scandal that eviscerated the sport’s credibility is not a good look either. Federations and other bodies have walk that line between too harsh and too generous when it comes to stuff like this.

    Tennis schedule was very weird. I’m assuming there were so many finals today because of the rain delays earlier in the tournament? Still, very odd. A lot of athletes made to play more than one match a day. Bicknell with a nice bronze medal in men’s singles.

    Fornaris eliminated in the quarterfinals of women’s epee. I’d select that as the second or third best result for TeamISV. Nice job

    I feel like they cut some quotas from athletics, which seems odd. It’s arguably the most popular/prestigious sport in the region, and these small entry lists make the event lose some luster in my opinion.

    You really have to feel for the athletes who trained for this event, went to the trouble of qualifying, and might not get many other chances to compete in an event like this.
