  1. Yes! What a performance! making a play for my points this year!
  2. and might end up splitting the political vote, so Vesna needs to bring it right now!
  3. Loreen with a solid performance, but my points are likely going elsewhere tonight.
  4. It’s a political satire entry about Putin and Lukashenko.
  5. a bit off on the vocals as well I’d really come to like the song as a guilty pleasure entry.
  6. had a better national final performance. I really like the song, so it’s unfortunate the vocals just weren’t quite there tonight.
  7. was so good! I really hope they get through
  8. It’s hard to not be romantic about sports when moments like that happen.
  9. It’s so interesting that people mostly choose Valley speak to represent the whole US. It definitely shows the power of our entertainment industry in California. To be honest, it’s a moderate sub-section of the state that talks likes this, and it’s definitely played up for television and film. This series of three videos is very interesting if you haven’t seen it:
  10. I think it’s an interesting concept at least. Leave the gendered team events (and individual events) for the powerhouses, but set aside one event for the developing programs. I can at least respect the logic behind this attempt to boost medal counts, compared to leaving events off the program or adding a bunch of sports/events practiced almost exclusively in the host country.
  11. I enjoyed following the race as well. It’s interesting to see the tactical differences in men’s and women’s cycling at the moment. I did like the running theme of cyclists at least trying to make things interesting for the favorites with random attacks and advantageous moves. Vollering looks pretty damn strong at the moment.
  12. joins the medal table with a bronze in pencak silat. However, they won that by virtue of low entries and good draw. Hopefully they can win a couple matches and get a few more medals in the coming days. Also, on the topic of pencak silat, does any have a replay from yesterday. I believe it was broadcast, but I couldn’t find anything in a quick search…
  13. It must be said the the local organizers have done a great job of dressing the venues. They all look very nice and professional from what I’ve seen so far.
  14. I wasn’t particularly enamored by the “show” event in ju-jitsu either. I get the point of it (demonstrating forms through a performance), but it just wasn’t for me.
  15. I haven’t found any other than indoor hockey and ju-jitsu, so feel free to pass along any you come across.
  16. Yeah, very little (15 or 16 sports I believe) will be covered properly by the host broadcaster. It doesn’t seem like there’s an accessible international feed either Thankfully, some of the local media are broadcasting other events, but it’s a challenge to figure out what’s happening without graphics. I’ll probably watch a few events here and there.
  17. It doesn’t seem like the marathon is being broadcast in full anywhere A real shame considering the broadcast potential of a marathon lapping around Angkor Wat. I was looking forward to it.
  18. Luka Dončić has reported offered/committed to paying the funeral cost of those killed in the school shooting in Belgrade.
  19. A pretty solid opening ceremony from Cambodia
  20. This glow in the dark martial arts segment is very nice
  21. Yeah, I think it’s just high quality projection mapping.
