Not under my original interpretation of the qualification document. It’s not very clear if the quotas are reallocated to the next best athlete or not. However, it does say unused quotas will be allocated via the HPA. The allocation created by @Josh can be seen as “safe” quotas. Those should be guaranteed without question according to the qualification document.

It’s really grown over the last few years, and it’s great to see so many kids and adults getting involved in sport now that the structure is there. I spoke with both of them last fall at a Global Sports Week event in LA. Quality people as far as I can tell. I might have competed against Ezra in athletics if I was a year younger. Our high schools were in the same league, and I believe he competed in standard able-bodied competitions. Anyways, cool to see him becoming such a great representative of the city.

SAG-AFTRA will go on strike, so the American entertainment industry is likely about to grind to a halt. The writers have already been on strike for a few months now. It won’t affect too many shows/films releasing soon, but 2024 could get pretty bare if things aren’t resolved.

Marlon Attard won Gozo’s first gold medal in the open skeet event. It seems they enjoy shotgunning as much as a the main island The National Ranges was one of the nicest sports facilities on the main island, and the local interest was very clear when I was there, so not shocking to see their neighbors doing well in the sport.

Gotland‘s is missing as well. Iroquois Confederation is another entity that comes up from time to time and doesn’t have a flag. Those are the only ones I can think of now.

Gozo (add them to list of flags we’re missing @Sindo) won their first ever medal at the Island Games yesterday. Lara Calleja won silver in the women’s individual trap event.

I bet it’s meant to be used as a recreational/public area, not a competition zone.

@Josh to answer the question you asked last night, I don’t think quotas will be allocated to athletes outside the top 4 (even in the case of reallocation if an athlete already has a quota). I think any remaining quotas go to the high performance allocations.

Commonwealth Games alumni dominated the men’s triathlon: Lewis , Turner , Draper all on the podium. off to a good start overall with victories in triathlon, shooting, and athletics. They almost swept triathlon (relay will be held later in the week), but failed to win the men’s team title, which went to Gotland (whose flag is missing from our list) and are the only other teams with gold medals so far.

At least they’re to make the event a bit more accessible to those off the island

I didn’t watch as much of these Games as I would have liked, but where the European Games failed to live up to my expectations, this event easily surpassed them. There was great coverage, even if certain events weren’t shown when I wanted to watch them. The results system was good. We had a couple of smaller NOCs with historic performances. The venues and organization seemed adequate, even if there were some quirks. I will also probably never get the theme song out of my head, so thanks for that CCS Channel All in all, a fun event to follow. It’s definitely worthy of a place on the international sports calendar in my opinion. I hope the centennial edition in Santo Domingo is just as great. It would be a shame to lose the older regional multi-sport games in the world.
