    I don’t think the judges and I watched the same final Stylers Crew get the gold even though they spent more time doing weird gags and hogging the stage than the CIV Freestyle Team (who at least actually did some juggling)

    Stylers Crew will again perform for the gold medal. will get a chance to avenge their semifinal loss to them from six years ago.

    As an American, this is very foreign concept. We literally fill 90,000 seat stadiums (for American Football) and see an annual decrease in job productivity during the men’s basketball tournament. That said, more funding on academics and less focus on sports programs might not hurt our education system. College sports are generally viewed as incredibly important stepping stones for our Olympic athletes though.

Alpine Combined will be held as part of alpine skiing, even though it has been axed from the Winter Olympics.

    bags the first gold medal in table tennis. They might be able to sweep the medals, which would definitely help their chances of topping the medal table.

    Yeah, I don’t feel like the University Games have fallen into disrepair or something. Entry numbers are down, but given the circumstances, not terrible I suppose. The lack of replays is annoying, but the broadcasts are pretty good when I can catch stuff live. (I realize I sound like a broken record here, but I really am annoyed with the FISU)

    FISU.TV really taking their time uploading replays this edition. It’s so annoying, especially since most of the finals take place from 00:00 to 05:00 in my time zone, which means I can’t watch much of them live

    Summer University Games and Jeux de la Francophonie for me. I suppose those might not meet everyone’s definition of “big events” though Definitely looking forward to cycling and sailing worlds. I might try to follow archery world championships as well. If the Commonwealth Youth Games are broadcast, I might follow those too.

    Cisse , Eseme , Zango , and Koala are probably the headliners of the athletics entries. A decent amount of entries even with Canada, Quebec, France, Luxembourg, New Brunswick, and Wallonia missing. I do think the level will be lower than six years ago though.
