  1. advanced to four finals in judo today…and lost all of them. Painfully on brand I suppose
  2. gets their first gold medal of the Games. In judo of course
  3. with a win over for a gold medal in judo. There’s a result you don’t see everyday
  4. Some welcome rule/competition format changes here (mostly for the better in my opinion).
  5. took a loss to in women’s basketball. I know it’s not their top squad, but still quite shocking.
  6. Can’t say I like the broadcast format for these Games. Instead of airing full sessions like six years ago, TV5MONDE is kind of just skipping around to different sports. It’s nice because you can see a little bit of everything, but they aren’t airing all the finals. For instance, they didn’t show any judo medal matches today, and they only showed one table tennis final. It’s a real bummer for me, since I actually quite like these Games and look forward to them
  7. Gold for David Popovici! The Canadian judoka of course Bio: https://jdf2023.microplustimingservices.com/#/athlete-details/9426

  10. swept table tennis. I guess they’re the “China” of the Francophone
  11. Probably went something like this…
  12. Krakow could only dream of these crowds
  13. Huge result for Marthe Koala (heptathlete) in women’s long jump. She set the Games Record at 6.94m, which also bags her a quota for Paris 2024. 25cm PB according to the start list
  14. I think that’s the key wording here. Both groups get a set of five boulders.
  15. Judo and shooting for sure. Hopefully others will be available soon.
  16. Men’s singles event in table tennis is shaping up for an interesting finale. all eliminated in the quarterfinals. the only non-African country into the semifinals. still with a chance for gold as well.
  17. They’ve finally started adding replays to FISU.TV, so I can’t wait to watch something besides archery, shooting, or wushu
  18. I think the boulder problems are different for groups A and B, but I could be wrong…
  19. He said on Instagram he intends to compete in the lead. I think that discipline, in theory, should be easier on the ankle. Still, I’m surprised he’s not resting.
  20. We’ve actually yet to have a multi-sport games this cycle where that’s been the case. European Games streamed some, but not all, preliminary matches.
  21. won a silver medal in literature, so they won’t leave empty-handed.
  22. A couple decent performances in athletics… Eseme took gold in the men’s 100m (10.04) Mendy won gold and broke the games record in the men’s 110m hurdles (13.38) Diouf with nice sub-46 win in the men’s 400m. picked up their first gold medals as well.
