  1. First 2 days very very entertaining. We lost this bronze medal in Mixed 4x400 by 0.02 sec, so it's sad. But close 4th is still much better than i expected.
  2. Nevermind.
  3. Chat GPT is somehow 3 out of 3 in their predictions - he predicted those 3 for LA and they all won gold in Tokyo WCH on day 1. So you know what's gonna happen next heh. I asked them who are the favs for gold in LA 28 in day 2 wch events? We'll see if they'll be so smart again lol. M 100m 1. Lyles - Kishane Thompson close 2nd M 10000m - they predict Joshua Cheptegei for gold in LA, but he's not there in Tokyo so we move Berihu Aregawi from 2nd to 1st W 100m 1. Julien Alfred (Melissa Jefferson-Wooden 3rd, it won't be like that in Tokyo I guess( W Long Jump 1. Tara Davis-Woddhall 2. Mihambo W Discus Throw 1. Valarie Allman 2. Tausaga-Collins 3. Feng Bin You are so boring, CharGPT. They basically go for the Paris champions ...
  4. For those who ain't seen "Sexmission" yet. A realy funny movie, strongly recommend it.
  5. One more time and that's gonna be a penalty box for Babiarz That's how it ends when the only thing you study and prepare before working as the commentator for the Event of the Year is analyzing John Lennon's lyrics. Pathetic.
  6. I like the idea that they put most of the favourites at the beginning of the start list in their qualifying groups in the field events. First 4 athletes or sth, it's not a random draw i think. It makes it easier to follow when there are more events at the same time. Nice idea. They sent Anita Włodarczyk down the start list though...
  7. Track&Fields News Predictions very interesting imo https://trackandfieldnews.com/2025-world-championships-mens-top-10-formcharts/ https://trackandfieldnews.com/2025-world-championships-womens-top-10-formcharts/
  8. Ha! I have already secured my olympic vacation at work for the entire 2026 Olympics ! So i’m ready ! Come on athletes, entertain us !
  9. Yes. This is a great collection! Waiting for some other games as well
  10. True. Maybe this is the real reason why they placed athletics in the first week in LA.
  11. Entry lists are published. https://worldathletics.org/competitions/world-athletics-championships/tokyo25/news/press-releases/final-entry-lists-world-athletics-championships-tokyo-25
  12. The infamous BBC's David Coleman words were about him... “And David Hemery is going to take the gold. David Hemery wins for Britain! Hemery takes the gold, in second place Hennige and who cares who’s third? It doesn’t matter.” https://www.theguardian.com/sport/london-2012-olympics-blog/2012/apr/27/stunning-olympic-moments-david-hemery
  13. Since ChatGPT is so good at schedulling, I asked him - just for fun - who are the main favourites for the possible Day 1 events in LA? Welk, turns out ChatGPT is a bit conservative and boring - they mainly go for the current world/olympic champions. But they predicted two big surprises imo as well. Triathlon - W Individual - Cassandre Beaugrand Canoe Slalom - W K1 - Klaudia Zwolińska Judo - W 48kg - Assunta Scutto Judo - M 60kg - Ryuju Nagayama Fencing - W Epee Ind - Vlada Kharkova Fencing - M Sabre Ind - Sandro Bazadze Athletics - W 10.000m - Ruth Chebet Athletics - M Shot Put - Ryan Crouser Athletics - Mixed 4x400m Relay - United States Rugby Sevens - M Tournament - France Shooting - Mixed 10m Air Rifle Team - United States 3 gold for USA, no gold for China on day 1
  14. Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo won’t compete, either.
  15. Three Czech players in Women's Singles QFs. Nice.
  16. Brilliant!!! Thank you so much! Now we are waiting for the detailed event schedule. I wonder when they announce it. Maybe next year... I don't remember how it was for Paris.
  17. Thank you all for your predictions!!! They are very interesting, thanks a lot! I obviously know my yesterday's predictions for Poland are way too optimistic. I think some less popular sports here may have problems with financing due to all the political turmoil we're gonna have here between now and LA 28 (and beyond). So it may cause some problems for the athletes and coaching stuff and in the end we get less quota than we could have. So now maybe I'd say: -2 Swimming -1 Diving -1 Archery -2 Equestrian (1 team less, 1 ind more) -1 Gymnastics Artistic -1 Judo -4 Rowing -1 Taekwondo -1 Triathlon (no man) 14 less athletes altogether, still optimistic That would be 268-14=256 - and if we count the reserve fencing athletes off - it's 253 Much more than 218 in Paris, but we had M and W volleyball teams there only and here i also predict 2 other team sports: - W handball - we were 9th in 2024 European Champ so we are on the edge of qualifying - M basketball - i know, i am biased here, but we just beat Slovenia with Doncic, you know... If we scratch handball and basketball it's 253-26=227 - slightly more than Paris, very possible The problem is that way too many of these quotas are from the bottom of the rankings, those people just made the cut and they are not medal contenders at all. We will be again one of those NOCs where the difference between athletes quota and total medals is HUGE sadly
  18. I know what you mean. But there are two things in it. A close, head-to-head racing with big speed and all these corners, changing positions, is obviously very very entertaining and i do like it a lot. But i don't understand the refeering in many cases here. Sometimes their decisions are pretty obvious and i agree with them in a second. But I think a lot of decisions are very discretionary and i don't get them, those discretionary referee decisions keep me away from this sport a bit. Even if this will be one of a very small number of medal chances for Poland in 2026 olympics.
Pozdrawiam
  20. The ever expanding schedule means larger team sizes for the "already-big" nations. But less quotas for many sports/events mean smaller teams for "medium-sized" NOCs, I'm afraid.
  21. Team Ethiopia https://ethiopianmonitor.com/2025/07/29/ethiopia-announces-team-for-the-world-athletics-championships-tokyo-25/
  22. Team Kenya https://www.athletics.africa/news/africa/kenya/athletics-kenya-name-strong-squad-wch-tokyo25-22265
  23. Team Jamaica https://www.jamaicaobserver.com/2025/08/30/danielle-thomas-dodd-opts-world-champs-team/
  24. Now we can keep updating it with all the coming months, when exact events per session will be known, team sport opponents will be known, we can even add qualified athletes there somehow. But it's a great beginning. Thank you once again.
  25. That's awesome. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
