I don't like a play-off bracket here. There cant be any team vs any team final. Even worse, you know that each semi-finalists must be one of group of 8 teams. Not good at all.

I think M long jump final will be very entertaining today. Sadly rather no chance for as entertaining one as Powell-Lewis Tokyo 91. Even with those brand new shoes on.

So for now i think i'll go with more-or-less copy/paste Tokyo wch schedule in athletics.

Swimming LA schedule is a tough cookie. Athletics LA schedule looks a bit easier to predict, i mean: Tokyo 25 is 9 days and LA 28 is 9 days, too. The difference is we have some morning finals in LA sadly. And more morning sessions generally. And we have this new stupid Mixed 4x100 in LA, it is not here in Tokyo. Hope there will be no repechage in LA like in Paris, but Coe likes the idea, so i'm afraid they may stay. I love the idea of double finals in shorter races in Tokyo: M and W 100m finals on the same day, the same with 200, 400m, 400m Hurdles. I hope it will look like this in LA as well and i think there is a big chance for that. Normally athletics starts on Friday in the olympics. But we have opening ceremony on Friday. Normally there were W 100m olympic finals on Middle Saturday and then M 100m on Sunday. And i don't think they want 100m M or W final on Monday. So it's 99% for me they will be both on Day 2- Sunday night. And if they do it with 100, then they may also do it with other short distances. Maybe 100/110 hurdles the only exception, like in Tokyo. EDIT: TURNED OUT I CAN'T COUNT TO TEN PROPERLY. ATHLETICS IS OBVIOUSLY TEN DAYS, NOT NINE (FROM DAY 1 TO DAY 10). AND AFTER THAT THERE IS ALSO RACE WALK AND MARATHON.

Agree 100%. Still better than Atlanta 96 though.

I am trying to figure out what the swimming LA schedule may look like. They added more 50m events so i think it will be sth like 2025 aquatics wch schedule but the problem is - 2025 wch was 8 days event but in LA it will be 9 days with no morning session on day 9. They had 42 events in 2025 wch, it will be 41 events in LA (no 4x100 mixed freestyle relay here - sadly, because i find it much more entertaining than mixed 4x100 mixed relay). 41 evens : 9 days = 4,55... events/day. So probably 5 days with 5 finals each day, and 4 days with 4.
