  1. Isn't it used by half the football teams in the world basically?
  2. The 3FM DJ who came up with the idea said he's already heard back from 160+ radio stations all over Europe now. Finally something sort of ok coming out of 3FM for a change
  3. And to avoid other people having to Google: that is ice hockey.
  4. Here are two quotes from last year to illustrate this does not seem like a guy one would really feel sorry for if he feels a bit sick. He is one of the Kings of All First Class Asshats.
  5. I mean, like anyone I do hope they recover and such, but...karma's a bitch.
  6. Wait, earlier reports in other media (can't find it at the moment) said USA bought half a million swabs, not full test kits...
  7. Some factors people have mentioned here include a way above-average age, mishandling of mainly the first cases and a high number of smokers, although according to this list one wouldn't expect that to make such a difference compared with other countries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_cigarette_consumption_per_capita Edit: two of those factors are mentioned when talking about the high number of deaths (plus hospitals being simply overloaded), not specifically the number of cases
  8. Huh, never noticed that Since one can't edit archived shows, I am not incredibly annoyed I did watch it all the way through to the end though.
  9. I add everything that seems potentially interesting, or else I'm going to be like "I know there was this one series I'd like to watch, but forgot the name, damn it" The list is BIG and includes 105 shows at the moment, but a very large part of those are shows I haven't started yet but are there for the reason mentioned above Shows which I've completely finished over the years (finished as in, watched all episodes and the shows are either cancelled or simply finished): "Almost 4 years ago" is when I created my Episodescalendar account, hence so many shows showing up there at once
  10. I've been hearing about Pandemic for a while now, but haven't gotten around to watching it. I guess I won't then Pandemic is not included in that list, so it'll be a while before I really need a new series to watch
  11. Probably mostly because it was more of a local thing, I guess the fighting was most intense in the periods outside it so it was ok to hold it
  12. Yeah, I also hope they focus all power on cancelling the EU now so we can keep watching our HD Netflix shows. Gotta keep those priorities high.
  13. So...you know. There's that.
  14. For us, here in Western Europe, luckily it is. Not so much so for the most eastern half of the continent I'd assume..
  15. Switzerland is starting to consider shutting down Netflix for now, because the networks are getting congested. Now we're starting to feel how it was during WW2 https://futurezone.at/netzpolitik/corona-krise-schweiz-ueberlegt-netflix-abzudrehen/400784333
  16. Oh! Oh! Quickly, find that song that says people eating meat are filthy murderers! Twelve points!
  17. I really think we don't. At all. Luckily.
  18. And another press conference by the prime minister, quite rare to see this many in such a short time Focusing on the by far most important thing of all in fighting the spread of the virus, besides testing: keep your distance from each other. Way too many people don't, sadly. Distance, distance, distance.
  19. Not postponed, but cancelled entirely.
  20. No worries, I've posted plenty of polls on the Dutch website I write for and half the times I post it and think "crap, I should have added this or that option as well"
  21. Coronavirus parties are only ok in one and only one situation: if the people who attend this party do so in some private castle or something and keep themselves locked inside their for the next year or so without even one move outside
  22. Which is not exactly true, since quite a lot of things are closed or closing down as well.
  23. I'm very much missing the option "It is too early to decide yet".
  24. Until the organization where I go to decided to close the exam center where I work, yes (which they did two days ago). I had my second 'interview' for a new - my first real - potential job today (first a three month try-out basically, both for them and for me to see if we're a good fit) and much like last week's first one, that went very well - nice, calm, friendly, positive conversation. They still have to work, because it's a big psychological care institute basically, and psychological patiens don't just think "oh, coronavirus, let's not need care for a while". No idea when I'll start yet
  25. Athletes who now come out and say they'll boycot the Games are just jumping the gun big time. It ain't looking better at all compared to a week ago, but before using health as a reason, they should (and probably will) still wait for a while before deciding. Of course meanwhile they should work hard on a plan B in the background.
