  1. Although I must mention a few exceptions for ice hockey, most notably the big Olympic matches/world championships finals and I also kinda like the NHL play-offs
  2. Seems like more people than usual are happy with the outcomes: from regular movie viewers to people focussed on the diversity thing, everyone won Too bad Jojo Rabbit didn't win, it would probably have been a unique moment where I had actually seen the 'best picture' winner
  3. It'd be so much easier if it was a matter of crossing out sports you don't care for....I'd just select figure skating, curling, ice hockey and we're done (freestyle skiing and snowboarding only escape because of the cross, otherwise they can fly out the window)
  4. No idea how the Netherlands didn't get disqualified in the women's race, Van Ruijven just pushed one of the Chinese girls onto the ice Then again, Schulting had her fair share of avoiding penalties as well, including this weekend.
  5. The Dutch head coach has said it's 'most likely the end of her Olympic hopes' (Savelkouls), although it's still not clear exactly what the extent of her injury is. Henk Grol said he mostly just hopes she'll be able to walk normal after this, the team is rather shocked after that horror injury.
  6. 5th place seems excellent for someone who didn't win all races though.
  7. "God, we thank you for sunny skies and V8 engines." It's time for NASCAR
  8. Jizerska Padesatka (50km classic in the same competition as the Marcialonga, Vasaloppet etc), full race in excellent quality
  9. I have a feeling it'll happen earlier And thanks for making @dcro lose his bet
  10. 18-year old Helene Marie Fossesholm coming in with a fantastic 5th place in only her third ever World Cup start We are going to hear so much more of her.
  11. How do you know people posting on 4chan or YouTube are fat nerds and how do we know you aren't?
  12. Savelkoul's injury after 4:30 in this video. In case you don't want to see a leg bending the wrong way (so against the knee's natural direction), don't watch..
  13. It seems like the end for Tessie Savelkoul's Olympic dream: her leg was in a very, very weird position and she had to be stretchered off.
  14. More than excellent weekend for Vlhova. She could have gotten even more today without that rather big mistake.
  15. Current positions would bring Brignone to within 200 points of Shiffrin. Not that Shiffrin cares much about that at the moment I assume.
  16. Yeah that didn't look too good. Hopefully it's a matter of taking a few days off and that'll be enough.
  17. I'd love to see her compete and possibly inspire some people, yes. I hope she does understand that Olympic schedules can't be made around which day is an 'impossible' day for which religion though, but I'm sure she understands that even though it's a shame for her now.
  18. And this is a World Cup and in fencing that's actually the highest level?
  19. Well in this case the only way is to say "Even though my religion says it's a rest day, I'll run anyway because it's my dream." Most likely she won't, I guess, so she can't run. It really is/was entirely up to her and if her Olympic dream is less important than her having to follow religious rules without any chance for an exception, then that is the only choice she could make.
  20. Last year the Tour of Israel was mysteriously cancelled, this year the 'Tel Aviv Classic' died a slow death and just disappeared Oh Israel, stop making a mess of stuff. Deservedly in this case by the way, any new race that calls itself a 'Classic' should be automatically cancelled.
  21. Kramer being Kramer in the B-division. Only Yuskov and Pedersen have ever had a faster 3k than his 3:36, and then he slowed down and stopped. Only preparation for next week
  22. I wonder if they too have to drive 10.000 kilometers to go to the competitions, in their old van, like the Mongolians a few years ago
  23. @Finnator123 would like to have a word with you
