  1. Why, exactly? Lotte Lie has a Belgian mother and the others are as Belgian as terrible roads, road signs placed 500 meters after you actually needed them and cyclocross
  2. Probably, although let's hope we'll never know. That was horrifying.
  3. Bit of an understatement, apparently every single shot was dead center, which is rather rare (especially in competition) and so the coach had no choice but to make a photo he said (the magnets can't be put on top of one another, which is why it had to be shown like this)
  4. My favourite Chinese athlete made the race by one tenth of a second Clean prone shooting for our favourite Brazilian biathlete and cross-country skier, standing was a bit....less good.

  6. Amazing result for Claude in the supersprint qualifying, maybe even his best ever. Awesome.
  7. And the draw for the men's 5k tonight is just one big disappointment https://live.isuresults.eu/events/2020_USA_0002/competition/2/start-list Basically all of the favourites avoided each other. At least Kramer has to go early and seems to be in fantastic shape, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get awfully close to the WR.
  8. With a little sidenote being that this includes a whole lot of 'suspected' cases. Most of these are not actually confirmed (in a laboratory) but are 'clinically diagnosed': you have symptoms, you're counted. That's why there is this extreme rise from 2100 or something yesterday to 15k today. Good chance this is a one time thing to 'correct' the numbers to the new way of counting.
  9. Oh come on, just cut the head off of this monstrosity that's called a team sprint and be done with it It's the world championships and this is the women's start list:
  10. Sam Willoughby crashed at the Chula Vista track in September, after the Olympics. His successor as Olympic silver medalist, Jelle van Gorkom, has already retired as well after a bad training crash early in 2018, which left him in critical condition and in coma for a good while. Luckily he's at least able to live life again, albeit with simple things like getting a cup of coffee going significantly slower. Hopefully Sakakibara gets out of it relatively well too, at least good enough to lead a semi-normal life.
  11. So this happened last weekend...it's now been confirmed Bouwmeester suffered a heart attack. He was 'awake and conscious' when arriving at the hospital, so that's good.
  12. The Halo looks bad, the Aeroscreen isn't much better - if not worse. Too bad, open-wheel racing is not exactly going forwards anymore in terms of esthetics.
  13. Here we go again. Chokri Elmehdi of Morocco had signed a contract with Israel Cycling Academy after rumours had been going on for a while. First Arab Muslim rider for the team, awesome! Few days later aaaaaand to the surprise of absolutely nobody, he has left the team due to 'personal reasons'. Most likely the Moroccan Cycling Federation, which had pretty much never supported him in any way, suddenly was 'a little interested', asked some questions and got rather angry, more or less forcing him to sign for some lower level French team. Ahmet Örken all over again
  14. Hammerschmidt is so far from where she once was (so is Schempp of course). In Martell last week she was basically destroyed by Ida Lien in the final part of the race..
  15. Mercedes looks just as boring as it did in my opinion, so not much changes there
  16. Thanks to Rieke de Maeyer having some good results and, mostly that, Lotte Lie making the move from Norway to Belgium, tomorrow Belgium will make their mixed relay debut at the highest level Together with in-form Thierry Langer and Tom Lahaye-Goffart, they might have a decent chance to not be lapped first
  17. They also pulled out of Bahrain (and cancelled that outright) when unrest was brewing there. This was just a matter of time really
  18. I thought you just meant a rather naive TV commentator said that at the time, but alright. Much like the naive TV commentators here were positively (no pun intended) amazed by the Gewiss-Ballan show in 1994.
  19. Paula Radcliffe's totally not suspicous marathon world rec.....oh wait, new Nike shoes. Never mind.
  20. Obviously. The wonderful 90's, when absolutely nobody doped
  21. How did you not? Among F1 fans this has been received with just as much surprise as Red Bull's new livery being basically exactly the same as forever
  22. Top-5 low key for USA in a biathlon relay at the moment. Jeez, why not ask for 'I would be able to accept a silver medal'?
