  1. That is hilarious
  2. Alright, something happened, as expected it was a matter of waiting for the final 3km And yeah, without some major bad luck, that's it and Hindley wins the Giro.
  3. And that's both the Passo San Pellegrino and the Passo Pordoi done, nothing has happened yet, at all. So far the expectations are coming true.
  4. That would explain the pole vault, high jump and discus throw being the events moved up, yes
  5. Alex Jones isn't a source.
  6. Wait, why did the program get thrown around? Just 2-3 days ago I checked to enter it into my own schedule and last night was only supposed to have some distance races, not three actual Diamond League (field) events
  7. At least it seems like the organizers are sort of taking the blame for the last turn troubles yesterday. That was mostly Mauro Schmid's fault for positioning himself rather...poorly, but the turn shouldn't have been that way in the first place. Apparently the UCI has some well-paid official walking around to accept the courses, which must be the most amazing job: you get brought to all kinds of beautiful places, undoubtedly in some of the best hotels the area has to offer with all luxury you want, then you spend five minutes walking your fat belly around the finish area, you say "Yeah all good" and when it goes wrong, just blame the riders
  8. Right, we're into the last days. Yesterday the Giro organizers got what they presumably hoped for, a fairly boring mountain stage. At least that's the only explanation for having a relatively easy mountain stage right before a monster mountain stage, so you know not much will happen. Same thing today, sort of. The hardest part is the last climb and the hardest part of the last climb is the last part of the climb, so we can assume the organizers are hoping for 165 kilometers of waiting and 3km of action at the end. Let's see if they'll get what they want again Not much has happened overall in this Giro yet in terms of the GC fight, it's more of an elimination race where three guys are left who are too equally good to really make anything happen.
  9. Followed by another WR
  10. Wasn't it already dropped from Eurosport last year? Or was it the World Championships that has been dropped a few years ago? Luckily there's often YouTube where someone uploads the full competitions
  11. Don't we already have that? When taking a look at the wrestling for the previous Olympics, it seemed like half the countries had a name that could impossibly be more....'Dagestan-area-y'
  12. How about a team event where one does a slalom on one ski and the other shoots a ski jumper with a paintball gun?
  13. Yeah...that makes the whole thing seem like not exactly a sympathetic family to cheer for. Can't really blame the 15 year old child for that part, so if she's really that good (which of course remains to be seen in terms of senior level) I'd be very interested to see it, but judging on this, that does indeed sound like a bit of a megalomaniac clan.
  14. And with Anju Nakamura of the mentioned Japanese team nowadays being the best skier in the entire field, by some distance. It's most certainly developing. Dual moguls is like keeping the 100m in athletics, but also adding a 100m head-to-head event with a knockout format
  15. To be fair, women's Nordic combined in 2022 would have been way too early, but 2026 isn't that bad. There has been a World Cup circuit for a few years by then, and it is definitely developing, no matter how you look at it. Honestly I think 2026 is the best moment to make it Olympic. Something like 2028 might be a tad better, but we'd need another pandemic to have Winter Olympics that year
  16. Do they make a thing out of wanting every single edition of the Nordic World Ski Championships being held in Swedish Falun? Wasn't 2015 enough for now?
  17. Oh that's not good. Although for sure everything will be available on Discovery+ like it has been at least since the Tokyo Olympics. "Eurosport Player will be replaced by Discovery+" has been said for more than a year now, so let's see Edit: Just checked and everything seems to be on Discovery+ which is on the Player as well, like the full British Superbikes broadcast I'm watching at the moment. It's a shame that - at least here - the only subscription options are Entertainment or Entertainment + Sports (instead of also having a Sports-only subscription), but for €60 per year that's still a steal considering how much I use it (easily 30+ hours a week)
  18. Nah, the /s to show sarcasm has been well-known online for quite a few years already
  19. I've heard it's basically the only sport in which women get married!
  20. Schools would be a lot safer if every student aged 10 and above has at least a pistol next to their chairs and gets monthly shooting drills teaching how to aim and such. From 15 years old, of course the pistols will be replaced by or supplemented with full-size hunting rifles. Obviously the teacher gets an assault rifle and, needless to say, everyone will be wearing bulletproof vests and helmets (obviously) at any moment inside the school buildings. /s
  21. There will also not be a Regina Oja anymore. Which is a shame, because 'Oh ja' is one of my million-times-a-day quotes, whenever I remember I was supposed to do this or that As in: "heywoodu, don't forget to do the dishes" "Oh ja" She'll now by Regina Ermits.
  22. I would assume and hope they are in favour of equal distances, but by letting them do the same as the men do, instead of basically the other way around? It can not at all feel great to have your international federation basically tell you "you women are not physically capable of distances men are capable of" straight in your face, and bring it as something great.
  23. The National Association for Gun Rights does. And they of course have the answer: even more guns equals fewer gun-related deaths
  24. New day, new shooting the US. 14 kids killed in an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. The debate will rise up for a bit again, there'll be protests, there'll be people saying "enough is enough" and "now we really need to do something" and by the time the weekend comes around, it's only a 60-second segment at the end of the news.
