  1. Awesome! Now let's start our visa applications and hope we don't end up in the seemingly random pot that says "Nah, because...nah"
  2. Oh that was absolutely a sales thing. The whole of South East Asia has always been seen as a massive market in the motorsports world, no surprise Thailand and Indonesia have received spots on the world championships calendar(s) in recent years Finland was at least a logical choice, and a nice throwback to old times, but both COVID and Russia being a bitch helped throw that down the drain. Unlike Kazakhstan, I'd say it's a shame it didn't work out for Finland, largely (of course not solely) due to basically bad luck.
  3. This week should be the first Indian Grand Prix, but in the past weeks it has been an absolute shitshow and it's not getting any better Everything and everyone and their mother around the whole event is just making things worse and worse it seems. From fraudulent hotels and shuttle bus companies to visa issues, customs troubles, nonsense bureaucracy, significant worries about basic hygiene facilities and food and, as a nice extra touch....the fact that homologation of the track is scheduled for, I kid you not, the Thursday before the first trainings It's not even sure the track is safe to race on, and that is definitely not a 'done deal' Tons of team members, including riders, have been refused at their airports. Collin Veijer, for example, is on his way back home from Amsterdam at this moment. KTM has so far received a grand total of 0 visa, as is the case for many other teams. Mind you, a total of 1500 people need to travel to India, so far not even 100 seem to have been accepted. At this point, now that most people aren't there yet (mostly because they can't), Dorna really should cancel this and not look to India again for the next 10 years, but with that being a big market that's obviously not going to happen
  4. And still first thing she did was take care of injured Brume, says a lot about what kind of nice person Vuleta is. Because of that it's always good to see her perform well
  5. Mu vs Hodgkinson Mu is the 3rd person, after Jelimo and Semenya, to go sub-1:55 this century!
  6. Nice, finishing the last stage - the one where it's basically a ride between friends followed by a frantic sprint - all on your own, 7 minutes (!) after the second-to-last finisher
  7. Yeah, exactly Good luck trying to time that in a running event or jump 1cm further every time
  8. Now on to a year of 6,24m attempts One can hardly think of a better event to be the best in, in terms of WR bonuses
  9. The shoeyfication of the sport results in the second 5k world record of the year, Tsegay almost went sub-14 even
  10. Van Gansewinkel was actually also a fairly large...how do you call that, trash company? I don't mean the company was trash, I mean they made their money with collecting and processing (literal) trash Apparently it's called Renewi now.
  11. Finally Arop got the NR he so badly wanted....but Wanyonyi beat him for the win
  12. Three hours of Diamond League action, let's go
  13. That is a fantastic throw and then you realize it puts her in...checks notes....40th place on the all-time list With the '' obviously not being meant against Ealey
  14. And the 2nd fastest women's steeple ever!
  15. Ogando That was too obvious of a 'I am supposed to do this 400m but really just want to do the 200m tomorrow, so I will just get out from the 400m by doing a false start' Come on man, at least try to make it look like you did it by accident!
  16. Benjamin opens the main program with the 4th fastest 400m hurdles ever
  17. It remains a bit of a mediocre thing that the Diamond League winners are decided by a single event at the end, but nonetheless I'm looking forward to today and tomorrow...here we go
  18. Thing is, there's hardly a significant 'bouncing back' to a loss against any of the 'lesser' teams (no offense to Canada at all, with 'lesser' teams I mean every team that's not Serbia or China ), and when losing against one of them, you'd basically have to beat not one, but both of the two top teams. Had the Netherlands won this, the exact same could have said about Canada of course, the Netherlands too is definitely one of those 'lesser' teams you really can't afford to lose to.
  19. 200+km stages still exist, 208km today With 10 climbs, all 3rd category. Even better, finally a stage will be shown in it's entirety, already before midday we're live. We better enjoy it, a few more years and all the GT's will consist of mostly junior stages considering the recent trends
  20. At least for Kalucka it shouldn't be too much trouble to qualify anyway I assume, just like for Miroslaw it wouldn't have been if she had not made it again here
