  1. To be fair, the short format of things like Q-School makes chances of surprises a lot bigger, so it might have been a bit of bad luck (possibly combined with indeed some overconfidence). He made it though, just like 1960's figure Scott Baker, who made a hugely impressive effort against Durrant at Lakeside. There's also a Tour Card for 2008 PDC world champs runner up Kirk Shepherd and for Conan Whitehead, who played some brilliant darts on occassion this month at Lakeside. In the European Q-School among others Darius Labanauskas (beat Van Barneveld at PDC worlds) and José de Sousa (nearly a nine darter at PDC worlds) made it.
  2. So, Manny Pacquiao beat Adrian Broner last weekend. Broner was absolutely furious at the judges, even though to be fair Pacquiao kinda dominated him and nearly had him down more than once. Badou Jack was destroyed by Browne, it's a miracle he stayed on his feet until the end.
  3. Typo in 25, where 2018 should be 2019?
  4. Let's see for the Netherlands. NOS (public broadcaster) Standard stuff like highlights of the Dutch football competition, live speed skating when it's world/European championships or a World Cup in Heerenveen sometimes, plus national championships usually. Quite a lot of cycling live, like the main classics and the Tour de France (not the Giro d'Italia, that's exclusively for Eurosport, or Vuelta, because they don't care). World and European championships of sports like field hockey, volleyball or water polo are usually shown (at least the Dutch matches), just like all matches in the World Cup and European championships in football. They're also showing more and more on their website when it's not on TV, like all speed skating World Cups. RTL7 (commercial) Generally speaking it's a regular commercial TV channel, as for sports their main things are darts (PDC, not BDO), which they show a lot, and Europa League football. Also in weekends they have some programs about local car racing sometimes. Every now and then they show live boxing, usually when it's between 20.00 and midnight, stuff like the Joshua fights, but not the fights in the USA. Veronica (commercial) Another regular commercial TV channel, as for sports they show Champions League football and since a while they have the rights for Glory kickboxing, which sucks since they only show the events live when it's at a 'good' time (and only the main fights, the rest they quickly show in around 20 seconds per fight), whereas the previous right-holders showed everything live no matter the time of day. I believe they got UFC rights as well, which is fine for me since I watch that much later and online. Ziggo Sport (paid sports channel) Shows quite a lot on their 7-8 channels. They have dedicated tennis, golf and racing channels, with most PGA and European Tour events and a boatload of motorsports (F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, DTM, Euro F3, GP2, GP3, WRX and sometimes even German F4, all live), plus they've got rights for Champions League football, all the women's (national team) handball, a few NBA matches per week, ski- and snowboard cross, cyclocross Superprestige and I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. Also football, but I'm not sure which competition is here and which is at their rival (like Bundesliga, Serie A, Premier League etc). They've also got a few cycling races, like the recent Tour Down Under. Fox Sports (paid sports channel divided into Dutch competition football and an international subscription) A LOT of live football, from the Dutch competition to Europa League and the main European competitions, but also South American football, African CL, a ton of national team football. Weekly live NFL games (all Thursday + Monday night games, three Sunday night games and all postseason games), all UFC live (although I'm not sure they still have it now that Veronica bought the rights), a few live NHL games, live MLB and basically all postseason live. Some live amateur football on weekends and probably some more stuff. Eurosport The main channel for sports, promoting itself as 'The home of cycling' and 'The home of the Olympics', since they've got exclusive rights for a lot of it. This is where most winter sports are shown (especially if you combine it with the Eurosport Player you can watch basically anything, live and on-demand, except the IBSF sports), HUGE amounts of cycling are shown there, still too much football as well. They also have all exclusive rights for MotoGP/2/3 (all trainings, qualifyings and races) plus WTCR and things like Le Mans. Sometimes you can catch some minor sports on here, so if that's all you're looking for, Eurosport is your best guess. Still, since they got more and more big rights, they are showing less and less of the minor sports (except for winter sports, that stays).
  5. I'm surprised at that. No matter what, I always prefer watching something (live) on TV compared to a computer or something, because at least for me it's just way more comfortable to sit back on the sofa and relax while watching TV (plus it leaves my laptop and phone free to write on forums, read up on other stuff etc). The only time I prefer watching on a computer is when I'm watching on-demand, so I can skip through parts where not much happens more easily than on TV.
  6. Yeah but the Sprint'thlon doesn't count for anything other than official stats
  7. Bit late, but this was awesome 37 years old (?) and then getting your best ever result after 15 years or so in the World Cup True showing of 'Never give up'
  8. One Duncan Laurence will represent the Netherlands this year. Apparently he was in The Voice of Holland a few years ago, just graduated from music school (or something) and one of the The Voice coaches put his name in the discussion. Never heard of the guy, but let's see
  9. Awesome result for Manex Silva today in the men's junior 10k freestyle. He finished 80th out of 102 competitors, destroyed the fellow Brazilians who were beating him left and right last year and especially the way he progressed through the field in the second half was impressive. Fun fact: he trains in Spain/with his own Spanish coach instead of within the Brazilian structure. Basically every Brazilian who improved in cross-country skiing over the past year or so (across the entire wintersports board) has been training either in another country or mostly making their own program.
  10. Sheer domination by Terentev and Valnes, who were already 6 and 5 seconds faster than the rest in qualifying. Awesome silver for 17-year old Skinder and gold for Lundgren As for Brazil, Rhaick Bonfim could have gone for something promising in the junior men's sprint, but didn't close his binding well and saw his ski come off and glide down on the very first uphill Manex Silva and Lucas Lima were, let's say, ok.
  11. I believe last time there was just a vague live stream sometimes, I'm not having high hopes for this one I'd already be happy if, like last time, they use the standard sportresult multi-event results system instead of some self-designed stuff that works badly.
  12. Trololol
  13. Judging by the scores, Federer and Tsitsipas are battling it out for real aren't they?
  14. Excellent results yesterday, today it's another beautiful day. Ready to cheer for Jill Colebourn, who will write some history today as Australian in a pursuit after yet another great showing yesterday
  15. And you can bet those morons are going all-out again today.
  16. Sorry, the life of free food is busy.
  17. Beautiful day in Arber for today's sprints, it's just freakishly cold
  18. We all know Flock is the most random skeleton athlete in the world, with a dominant win being just as realistic as a 21st place on any given day
  19. Just as I thought, not available in Germany Strange, Sunday I could watch the bobsleigh on that channel and the women's skeleton (heat 1) is available too.
  20. Any chance someone could send me the link for the men's skeleton heats of today? I can't find them on IBSF's YouTube channel where they usually are.
  21. Nope, but this biatlon.nl thing is from when former World Cup athlete and current Eurosport commentator Herbert Cool hosted a trip to Biathlon auf Schalke last month
  22. Sounds like Haase

  25. Enough to get by, be it barely. There's also the IBU that helps small nations.
