  1. Junior men's football 288 quotas freed up, easy
  2. If that would be the main criterium, we'd end up with only football (even the junior version), basketball, tennis, athletics and swimming at the Olympics
  3. Meh. At least when it's in one or possibly two nations, there's the "these are our Olympics" feeling. Nobody from say France is gonna think "cool, an athlete from Moldova, let's cheer for them because same continent!!"
  4. Yeah I'm not sure if I heard "You want to be Brazil's wax technician?" or "You want to be the Brazilian wax technician?". It's a matter of waiting and seeing next week, I guess
  5. Yeah I'll also try and forget the metaphore we sometimes use in the Netherlands when someone has bad skis...
  6. For the other one I'll go cheer as, officially, part of the Brazilian team next week since it's 99% sure my accreditation* will work out *I will officially be Brazil's wax technician
  7. Or Spain grows a set of balls and says "ok, Kosovo is accepted by the IOC, so they can participate here without problems"
  8. I'm still holding out hope for one real breakthrough week for Preuss. If there's one (World Cup-)athlete I'd like to really make it, it's her.
  9. Ha! That sounds way too rational and logical for the IOC.
  10. Suzuki vs Prins was....quite something. The first leg was literally several minutes of throwing at D1
  11. Not even a month later, and more Knegt-news: while lighting the fire at his house (one of those wood things), his clothes caught fire and he sustained severe burns, especially one of his legs is in bad shape. An ambulance and even a helicopter came to his house and apparently he is suffering from third degree burns. That's definitely gonna be the end of his season, let's wait and see if he ever comes back at all.
  12. Challenges often aren't about guilty or not
  13. So obviously pétanque and billiards.
  14. Wow That is quite something.
  15. Joan Barreda was leading the bikes classification after two stages, but yesterday he got stuck in the sand, couldn't get out and had to give up
  16. @dcro @wumo26 You can all go love yourself
  17. She could undergo surgery and compete in men's handball, right? It happens the other way around, after all
  18. Collalbo Too bad I can't watch the final day
  19. Too bad it's still thousands of kilometers away from Dakar
  20. 1. Mostly B, but kinda agree with @DaniSRB: the first X in the ranking should have the priority (maybe I'd go for top-3 instead of top-5), but if they decline, we can have an open bid process. 2. B, with first time hosts having a slight advantage 3. A and B are both fine for me. Much like for the prediction contests it feels (at least for me) like much more fun when you're competing/playing against/with people who you also 'meet' and talk to in the regular sports threads.
