For the men, they opted for Nory (former medalist, world champion) instead of an AA gymnast (Caio Souza, who is the alternate). Third Olympic participation for Nory and second for Soares. The women's team is the same who won a world silver medal last year, with Carolyne Pedro as the alternate. Third Olympics for Andrade, Saraiva and Barbosa, second for Oliveira, and first for Júlia.

I would say we can get announcements on tennis and possibly modern pentathlon next week. I suppose rowing will be there too.
 
Judo will have final rankings next week. but IJF needs some time for formalities. And the IOC will need time to check the entries - it will be a very big group of AINs. So they will need another week, I think.
 
World Aquatics will have final entries for swimiing next week too. There are not so many athletes to be checked. So they may be the same time as judo.
 
Shooting and Canoe are the very uncertain.
 
Shooting (normal) reallocation procedure is very complicated and long. I doubt if ISSF will send AIN entries to the IOC until all normal reallocations are done.
 
And Canoe is delayed by russians. ICF is waiting for them to reject C1 or C2 quota from the European qualifier.

Qualification process inf rowing finished "centuries ago" and they have only 1 AIN boat to check. At the same time deadline for reallocation in Rowing is 23.06.24. So World Rowing may be waiting for this date to send entries to the IOC.
 
But on the other hand we stiil unaware of the fate of AIN pairs/doubles for Paris. And rowing is exactly the case, as well as tennis and canoe.

On 57kg men freestyle: AIN got a quota at world championships. IOC has not invited the athlete who won the quota (Zaur Uguev) but Nachin Mongush.
 
We all know this is super common in wrestling.
 
But on wiki, the AIN quota was reallocated (!) and AIN appears as an "additional place", apparently out of nowhere.

This is the most pathetic thing ever. Apparently there is one Lithuanian wrestler registered, who finished 5th with one victory without even flying to Russia.... the reason behind it - there were so many no shows, that they would randomly assign a victory to one of the no shows if no one turned up for a match... so he scored a victory as his opponent didn't show up in Russia too 
 
More importantly - the wrestler ''representing Lithuania'' actually retired 3 years ago and haven't been competing at all due medicals reasons, so it's a mystery why is he even on the list

I think Maimuratov is pretty much safe with the fastest time in the qualifiers. even if he loses, 9th place will be enough for him (99%). almost no chance for the last two. so I say it's like 7 athletes for 4 quotas.
