  1. men's -102kg Olympic Quota places: next in line:
  2. men's -102kg Gold: Liu Huanhua* (total: 413kg) Silver: Garik Karapetyan (total: 401kg) Bronze: Yauheni Tsikhantsou (total: 400kg) * C&J World Record @ 232kg Full Results https://iwf.sport/results/results-by-events/?event_id=599 Group A Full Scoreboard
  3. can't believe it! he has done it! new C&J WR by Liu Huanhua, 232kg
  4. and it's gone! Liu lifteed 225kg and won the -102kg class with a total of 406kg now he's posted the C&J WR
  5. now Liu has equalled Karapetyan's Total of 401kg, but he's behind him because he did it after the Armenian next, the Chinese guy has posted a massive 230kg, but I think he'll come down once he knows he doesn't need anything like that to win
  6. it didn't go according to plan, unfortunately only 387kg for him Karapetyan just overtook Tsikhantsou (401kg for the Armenian) by the way, I've rarely seen a competition of this level with so many mistakes (and early withdraws)
  7. not to overestimate myself, but I told you already some time ago
  8. my picks... all the 23 swimmers with Priority 1, 2, 3 and 5 then, Anderson, Bird, Cox, Evans, McMillan, Wilby and Whittle and yes, I think they will fill all the 30 spots...actually they might even go up to 31 and take also Hanlon they need all those backups for the relays
  9. 10. Tom Dean won't be able to defend his 200m Free title in Paris
  11. yeah, it's always the case... tbh, often the entrepreneurs representing the main sponsor use their clubs just for sportwashing, once they reached their target, the club has gone
  12. given what happened Today, I expect Chamizo and Salkazanov (and maybe also Kuramagomedov) all in the same half of the bracket in the final tournament, with a highway for Demirtas to the final (and the quota place) #manipulateddraw
  13. men's -96kg Gold: Won Jong Beom (total: 389kg) Silver: Karim Ibrahim Abokahla (total: 370kg) Bronze: Braydon James Kennedy (total: 358kg) Full Results https://iwf.sport/results/results-by-events/?event_id=599

  15. that's disgusting! comparable to Roy Jones Jr. in Seoul 1988 in boxing frankly, it's time for wrestling to be thrown out of the Olympics, just like boxing
  16. quick (and tough) exchange of accusations between MLB and MLBPA Yesterday...strike incoming? imho, overpowering has a lot more to do with the current streak of injuries than pitch clock actually, I don't think pitch clock has any influence another question that's not been raised yet (and who knows if it will be at some point?), it's how the pitchers are grown in their young age, asking them too much and too early, so to be ready for the pro ranks as quick as possible (= more money and earlier for all the parties involved, from the family to the youth ranks coaches to the scouts and agents, who are well known to be interested only in their own earnings rather than the health of the people they represent...there's always someone else once you're gone) p.s. a more relaxed pitch clock, 6-man rotation and 15/20 RS games less (like in the NPB/KBO) might be a good idea in any case, independently from the increase of injuries to the pitchers' elbows
  17. the same as yesterday, I guess Bulgarian TV (online with a vpn) and Turkish TV (no idea if it was actually working without vpn or not when wrestling started) the links are a couple of pages behind
  18. I think that funding is more than enough, especially compared with so many Nations that don't have anything but fractions of what we have and still manage to win bunch of medals at any level imho, we just don't have knowhow and attitude (and maybe we're a bit short in terms of youngsters practicing the sport, but this doesn't stop our success in other disciplines, so I don't consider that a key factor)
  19. British Swimming Championships Day #5 men's 800m Freestyle 1.Tobias Robinson, 7.51.51 2.Tyler Melbourne-Smith, 7.59.59 women's 100m Fly 1.Keanna Macinnes, 57.92 2.Lucy Grieve, 58.31 men's 200m Breaststroke 1.James Wilby, 2.10.03 2.Gregory Butler, 2.10.48 men's 50m Freestyle 1.Benjamin Proud, 21.25 (British OQT) 2.Matthew Richards, 21.83 (British OQT) women's 200m IM 1.Abbie Wood, 2.08.91 (British OQT) 2.Freya Colbert, 2.10.46 (British OQT)
  20. very impressive swim by Ben he's definitely one of the top (gold) medal candidates in Paris
  21. well, the girls had some interesting results in the past years (Aurora Russo is the 2023 junior european and world champion) and Piroddu also had great results in the youth classes I don't really know why they just can't translate that once they enter the senior ranks? imho, we need to invest on top class coaches (and their "unconventional" methods, which might be hard to cope with here in our society) rather than going for athletes' shopping in Russia or in Cuba (especially nowadays)
