Federer91 got a reaction from Biathlonfan in International Olympic Committee News
Let i've said before, no real boycott will happen at the end and it's just smoke and lightning from a few countries to see, if their bluff will work. US and Canada will not boycott in anyway and France is the worst host for this idea, as they are a valuable strategic partner in bigger, non-sports, departments.
Do people actually believe there won't be any backstage strings being pulled, so that the French Games aren't ruined? The 3 Baltic states are the only ones i see, that could potentially stick it to the end, as it won't be a significant loss for them (or the Games), if they missed out. Mayyyyybe 1-2 of the Scandinavian ones, but i can't see how Macron wouldn't sway them. Poland is barking the loudest, but i would be gobsmacked, if they actually boycotted. Their politicians are just using what is popular today and then will promptly make up an excuse, when time comes.

Federer91 got a reaction from Cobi in Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2023
B U L G A R I A
Молец - Случки
(english -> Molec - Events)
LYRICS:
Well, for the this years contest i not only chose a song from the past year, but also a duo / group, that started their career in the past year.
The two boys from Molec are childhood friends, but started doing music together only in 2022 and quickly are becoming the biggest rising stars here, because of their deep and heartfelt lyrics and regular down to earth personas. They have admitted, that they aren't professionally trained singers, but have pure love and emotion for music.
I had difficulty choosing, which of their songs to use and per tradition switched it in the last seconds. And i couldn't find any english lyrics, so had to do the translations myself, so if there is something not very understandable, that's on me.

And people found the answer to that - just convince their 2 most dominant athletes to retire at age 25.

With todays start, Granerud missed the chance to equal the all time consecutive World Cup podiums record. Janne Ahonen will keep the record at 13 for now.

Not really surprised, it's more sad and pathetic how even at the World Championships, they can't make a Super-G, that's not barely over a minute long. What, France doesn't have mountains anymore?.....

Federer91 got a reaction from LuizGuilherme in Volleyball 2023 Discussion Thread
There was a "historical" result in the volleyball world this weekend. Of course it's on a much lower level, but for anyone, who loves statistics would probably be interesting.
In the top Bulgarian women's division, Maritza Plovdiv lost a match after 7 years and a 145 game winning streak. Out of those 145, 123 were won with 3:0, 19 with 3:1 and only 3 matches ended with a 3:2 win. This speaks enough about the strength of our women's league

Will have to check for slalom specifically, but i vividly remember Marc Berthod winning the Adelboden GS in 2007. With BIB 60 he was 27th in first run and then won the race

What can i say, another brilliant performance and will to win from Novak. They robbed him of the title last year with the political shenanigans, but it just fueled him even more and the emotions showed that. I have seen this over the years, people trying to peg him down, but it just adds more fire in him to prove them wrong and what has made him so successful.
I've been a die hard Federer fan for 17 years, but there is truth in Stefanos's words after the final - Djokovic is the greatest player of this sport. Federer had the chance to be this guy, but he missed so many direct matches with Djokovic, which he should have won. I can't count the times i was so angry and had sleepless nights after many painful loses. But in the last 2-3 years, i have put it behind me and accepted, that Federer had a rival, who pushed him to the limit and beyond and learned to respect that. Novak will break the majority of his records and frankly i'm ok with that. Hope he gets to 25 and plays a few more years.
