    I've lost all hope with the Brazilian gymnasts. At this point they are just embarassing themselves. Unbelievable. I hope nothing serious happened to Jade.

    Had Verniayev scored one tenth more, he would have been the Olympic champion. One tenth. So sad.

    I can't say I'm happy with that. I think his way of performing is so boring. I wish Beliyavskiy could snatch the bronze medal, but it will be impossible, unfortunately.

    Calvo is my sentimental favorite, but he would need 9 people to count a fall in their routines if he wants to get a medal. Too bad.

    A não ser a vitória do basquete masculino, hoje foi um dia horrível para o Brasil nos Jogos Olímpicos. A ginástica artística feminina terminou a final em último lugar, a natação vai muito mal, a chuva que se esperava de medalhas no judô não se concretizou, o tiro com arco foi um fracasso, o tênis de mesa não passou de sonho, mais uma derrota no vôlei de praia masculino e agora a dupla de tênis que era favorita ao ouro perdeu o primeiro set. Hoje foi mesmo o dia do 7 x 1. Sete decepções para um raro momento de alegria.

    What a bad day for Brazil. The girls are not ready to compete under pressure. I've lost all hope for a medal in the All-Around or on the Beam finals. Not gonna happen.

    I'm more inclined to believe China and Russia will settle for silver and bronze. Russia had many serious mistakes in Qualifications and they still managed to finish third. Brazil had a fantastic day in Qualifications and still finished behind US, China, Russia and Great Britain. I can't see a medal for Brazil even in my most optimistic dreams, unless everything goes wrong for Russia and Great Britain.

    Don't be so quick. The Slovenian girl will probably beat Mariana, but getting bronze should not be impossible.

    I'm not a fan of Wilson's routine. He has a bunch of small technical mistakes that should be more severely deducted. I have to say I'm rooting for Hambuechen because he's fought so hard for an Olympic gold medal... But I still think Zonderland will win again. My personal top 3 would be Hambuechen, Zonderland and Leyva for a medal, but we can't really count on Hambuechen and Leyva hitting their routines... Both are very inconsistent.

    Do you have any idea what you're talking about? She could not land her second vault properly. The joke is she was still awarded a silver medal after counting a fall.

    Unbelievable! That makes Danny Pinheiro-Rodrigues an Olympic finalist now. It looks like France was destined to be part of the Rings final, anyway, after the horrible injury of Ait Said.

    Well, she's in the final, so everything can happen. But Biles, Hong, Paseka, Steingruber and Chusovitina are way too far ahead in difficulty now, in my opinion.

    A bittersweet competition for Canada overall. Black had a fall on Beam (she would have reached Beam finals if she hadn't fallen) and Rogers had a fall on the Uneven Bars (she would also have reached UB finals if she did not have to count a fall). But, still, Olsen made Vault finals and Onyshko surprisingly made it to Beam finals, while both Onyshko and Black were able to qualify for the all-around final.

    Canada needs over 14.550 average on Bars to reach team finals. I think this is highly unlikely, unfortunately. Good news is Olsen has made Vault finals and Onyshko is hanging on in 8th on Beam. Fingers crossed now.

    Dipa has qualified! Congratulations to India!

    On Vault alone Canada can score over 45 points. Something around 43 on Bars is also possible.

    Oh, Moreno... Dipa has a chance to make Vault finals now. Black and Rogers will probably not score above 14.8, but Olsen probably will. Still, Dipa is in 7th place, so she can afford a gymnast placing ahead of her.
