  1. I don't want to defend Österdahl but what Else than the decision to not ban Israel (which in that case means we need to remove most sport federation leaders too) or for the Netherlands incident where we don't know what happend? Of course if Netherösmds explaination is true it is a scandal but we should wait until we have the evidente and the policy report. If it is nothing serious the policy should drop this case very soon. The last I heard was that the photographer that was "attacked" got her camera broken in the incident. At least that indicates some kind of physical behaviour and not only a gesture
  2. I wonder if some artists withdrew in last minute from the show acts of the final because I think the semi final productions were much better. A bit dissapointed as I ignored watching the songs and only watched the show acts and voting
  3. Are they afraid of having to announce high scores to Israel and be blamed personally for it or what is the problem? also about Netherlands. It Seems very Stange if the explaination is true unless it was a hitler sign or he pointed a knife or something. Must be more to it
  4. As much as I don't like friendly votings I still understand that most neighbour countries share some culture and Will appreciate similar music. In the Sweden-Norway example our languages are so similar that we can use our own languages and talk to each other and we Will understand almost everything. Not that it matters very much in Eurovision because it was a long time ago we sent a Swedish song. We even have norwegian singers this year not sure I like it though. at least Swedish song writers, but we are not alone with that either. But well we had Swedish citizens winning eurovision for Norway and Greece before also so maybe our time to borrow artists, we Will not win anyway.
  5. Haha amateur player, but a decent one. Don't know how he is as a husband but they have 2 kids. We lost a tight game against them unfortunately.
  6. Playing a national event this weekend in Stockholm where the competition is not divided into men/women. Most teams in the elite division are men obviously but one interesting combination competing in my group is the world/olympic Champions Oskar Eriksson and Christopher Sundgren from Team Edin, together with Agnes Knockenhauer (olympic Champ 2018 with Hasselborg) and Anna Hasselborgs amateur husband.
  7. Wow! Not that Anyone cares about the mixed though😄. What is also cool is that Isabella and Rasmus Wranås father, earlier today, also in Östersund won bronze as skip in the men's world seniors Championship. Their mother was the only family member without a world medal today. 😄
  8. this Estonian team has been in QF some years ago and has done some very good results on tour but still a bit of a suprising final with Sweden vs. Estonia!
  9. Semi now SWE-SUI on SVT for those with VPN: https://www.svtplay.se/video/Kv1YGPN/curling-vm-mixeddubbel/semifinal
  10. Stina Nilsson changes sport again, back to cross country but this time Ski classics. Her biathlon career ends with one individual podium and one in relay.
  11. My own 5 personal favorite gold moments: - Swedish expected gold and suprising silver (Ståhl and Pettersson) in men's discus Throw 2021 - Swedish women's cross country relay gold 2014. Kalla 25s behind gold and silver when she started the 4th leg. - Jonna Sundling, dominating golf in sprint cross country 2022. Because our Grand fathers are cousins I feel a bit extra for her. - Stefan Holm, gold in Men's high jump 2004. I was 9 year old and it is one of my first olympic memories and it was special because Sweden won 3 golds in athletics within 24 hours. - Team Hasselborg, gold in womens curling 2018 a was watching from one of the team members home together with her family. If I should consider non-golds I would like to include the Swedish silver in mens handball 2012 because I was there attending the semi final win against Hungary. for swedes in general maybe: - Ice hockey gold men 1994 - womens relay cross country 2014 - Gärderud gold and world record 3000m steeple 1976 - The 3 gold medals in athletics 2004 within 24h: Holm (M HJ), Olsson (M TJ), Klüft (W Hpt) - any of Ingemar Stenmarks gold medals in alpine skiing
  12. Individual gold in a team championship Seems off. Especially because (without knowing) I assume Sweden had no other team members.
  13. Interesting about the previous discus world record holder is that Shult only threw over 70m one other time in his career
  14. 14 men achieved the olympic standard in discus and 8 of them with results from this competition
  15. 2nd in the very first major and working the first yesr as professional by Ludvig Åberg! Made me interested in golf for the first time in forever!
  16. Wow! Even if it is an arena that charges the direction of throwing based on the wins and it was 21 m/a and it is strange that they don't have rules such as the sprints and long jump/triple jump, it is still very impressive and would have been interesting to see Ceh and Ståhl here too.
  17. Let's hope so! And from my view as I know most of the swedes, they are quite good people too😄 also liked team Fujisawa very much since their first WCH final. And and the only time I have interacted with Fujisawa, short by the coffe machine at a hotel breakfast she seemed like a very sweet person. Homan a bit more difficult to get close to and get a picture of while I mer her but such a great player!
  18. Grand slam Players championship qualifiers: women: Direct to semi: Homan-CAN, Wranå-SWE to QF: Gim-KOR, Tirinzoni-SUI, Kim-KOR, Hasselborg -SWE men: direct to semi: McEwen-CAN, Mouat-SCO to QF: Edin-SWE, Gushue-CAN, White-SCO, Retornaz-ITA
  19. Already yesterday Gushue got revenge on Edin after the world final, Winning the group stage game in Players championship. Mouat going strong winning against both Gushue and Edin.
  20. Sweden finished 5th last year ;)
  21. I like the ranking system even if I agree with you. Like my team, could probably be top-50 instead of 116 if we played more abroad. I think the formula is quite good where tournaments are worth more depending on the strength of the opponents. However it should really only count the strenght of those you finish ahead of. An example is the swedish championship this year where the gold was worth much less points than the silver or bronze last year. The only real difference was that Edin did not participate, and should you really get more points just because the team/s ahead of you are stronger. A gold without Edin should be about the same value as a silver without. However if you are invited to the very most awarding tournaments- the grand slams- that is based on rankings and not special invitations. Goesgens btw won Sun City Cup in Karlstad recently where Edin came 3rd and Klima didn´t qualify for playoffs.
  22. Goesgens are ranked #31 and Klima #63 on the world ranking so not so surprising, but of course Netherlands have always been better on tour than when they have played championships.
  23. Öberg sisters finished 5th in single mixed at Swedish champs. Only 5 seconds from silver. Apparantly Two girls in a team was accepted Peppe Femling won gold in his very last race, in team with girlfriend Anna Magnusson.
  24. Öberg-sisters will compete together in the single mixed relay in the Swedish championship. Will be interesting to see against the real mixed teams
  25. SWE nationals sprint Linn Svahn won by 0.01s over Sundling. Ribom 3rd around 10 seconds behind them. men: 1. Anger 2. Häggström 3. Ersson
