  1. He got Covid during European Championship and had another Cold after that as well
  2. "I have never surprised myself that much in my life" - Sarah Sjöström.
  3. Can we have a SWE-FRA final just like 1992!
  4. Should have met later than 1/32-final
  5. 1 misses in 125 shots in qualification and Levin gets a guaranteed medal if he hit 2 of the last 4 shots, and he misses 3 in those 4.
  6. Why can't they combine the genders here? Or is it an advantage to be a Women? Best man in the 10 m air Rifle would barely qualify for the final in women's competition
  7. And this was not the first time. And penalties was their big weapon in Tokyo, which i guess it the part in football you can have most use of spying. On the other hand, maybe it wasn´t the cheating that decided the final - because they sucked in the penalties, just not as much as SWE
  8. Pretty sure she will. It didn´t look good. But in all interviews before and after she seems like a great girl. no complaints from her in media after as you could suspect if someone is that mad at the judge direct after the match.
  9. because it happend before the opening ceremony, it should be punished under olympic oath from 2021 and be disqualified from that tournament.
  10. Just hope not to do the same as in Tokyo. We won the first game against Russia who ended up winning the tournament but we finished 4th
  11. I know these sports are always doing like this byt Am I the only one to think it is unfair when tennis, table tennis etc is so depending on the draw without any group stage?
  12. Must say I really enjoy this format!
  13. I expect 4 golds and 10 medals, which would be the best summer olympics for Sweden since Athens.
  14. Swedish TV has broadcasted everything from this Championship so far, until this morning when we finally win 2 gold
  15. Konso had Worse negative reaction (but not by much)
  16. 6 Swedish athletes (five from athletics and one sailor) started a GoFundMe to take the Swedish Olympic Committee to CAS. Backed by a professor in law they mean that the Swedish olympic committes decision to not let these (and a few more) qualified athletes go to the olympics is not compliant with the IOC charter. They need 400 000 SEK and have so far (starter today) 56 000. https://gofund.me/e1d13159 I guess if they somehow would succeed, it would also be important for many british (probably others too) athletes in the same situation.
  17. Why would it not be accepted? There are definately other competitions on high altitude/much wind for Throws etc that would be more reason to not count?
  18. Sarah Sjöström had earlier Said she would only race 50 free (and relays). Now she changed her mind and is registered also for 100 free (where she also hold the world record), but she Will not make the final decision until olympics had started in a Q&a today on her Instagram she also Said she Will race in LA 2028. That would be her 6th olympics
  19. How can they even think about having an olympic triathlon without swimming if the Seine water qualify is too bad? Then it is another sport. Better than to find another spot or have time trial in the swimming pool followed by a pursuit in duathlon. World idea than too have a 28 km long 50 km cross country skiing as in Beijing
  20. Interesting. Is it British Athletics and not their olympic committe who made the decisions? in Sweden the Swedish athletics association has showed support for the non-selected athletes as at least most of them have been nominated by national team captain Kajsa Bergqvist, but the national olympic committe decided they knew better
  21. Off topic but they must be Swedish-related somehow? Gunnar Holmgren sounds definately like a 60-70 year Swedish man
  22. Still can´t forgive the coaches making Sjöström waste too much energy in the relays in Rio with not to bad rankings but still with no chance of medals, compared to what she might have lost in the individual races. She was good enough for more than 1 gold-1 silver- 1 bronze that olympics. The medal chances might be slightly higher in relays this time but she is still a too good team mate so she will race the relays this time too instead of doing the same distance in individual instead.
  23. What is very strange is that Montler was selected by our NOC as one of the very first athletes already last year. Looking at his shape, affected by injures but still, and seeing that they have declined invitations for around 10 athletes only on athletics it makes no sense. The swedish NOC is more generous to younger people, the rest should be considered to have a chance to make top-12 (which is more generous than previous olympics, top-8 criteria). Still strange cause some not selected athletes defiinately have similar or better chance to make top-12 than other selected athletes. If it has to do with economy, IMO the athletes (or in this case the swedish athletics association) should get the chance to fund themselves. One swedish sailor that is not selected has actually started a lawsuit against the national committee, meaning that they are not complying to the IOC olympic charter.
  24. I am so tired of the Swedish olympic committee who always decides to have harder qualification standards than IOC, and sometimes it just feels like they are choosing people randomly. We send a lot of people with quite small chances of reaching finals but let other similar or better ranked athletes stay home. Like being ranked 18 in the world in womens shot put is too bad to be sent. We have 4 qualified in men´s 3000m SC but noone is selected, not that they would have been anywhere near a medal but these decisions destroy careers, and makes the level of the olympics lower because even if our NOC think they are not good enough, IOC will still just replace them with even worse ranked athletes.
