  3. Shooting has zero medals in CWG 2022. Lawn bowls has less medals than that?
  4. How times change. Previously, athletes testing positive meant doping now Covid.
  5. I don’t care that Shooting competition is not being held. We already showed that we are capable of arm twisting CGF. Deal with it.
  6. Yes, it is better to have more medals in the great Olympic sport of Lawn bowls
  7. I don’t think a Britisher should bring up the 1860s when talking about India. Honestly dude, you don’t want to go there.
  8. And what were her results after pregnancy? How many tournaments she participated in? When she took a break to become pregnant, she didn't know when the Olympic qualification tournament would take place, since nobody knew. She didn't know when she would be able to get back to full training. She didn't know if she would be able to reach her previous best. I have nothing against Mandy Bujold. Much worse athletes have used loopholes to get a free pass to Olympics and boxing qualification has been bad. But, I am amazed at the way this CAS win is being seen as a great step forward for women's rights, when as @JoshMartini007 said, she making the best of an opportunity.
  9. World Women's Championships were in November 2019, which she skipped. Last WC before Olympics has a very high chance of being qualifier. Also, what if another Canadian boxer would have been high up in the ranking, would she have tried to steal her spot?
  10. So, if Srihari Nataraj and Sajan Prakash, who have achieved OQT timings in 1 event, have achieved OST timings in other events, they can start in them as well?
  11. Can Universality swimmers take part in 2 events? I thought only swimmers with OQT in each event could take part in multiple events, while invited swimmers could only take part in 1 event. Also, does this mean that if a swimmer has OQT in one event and OST in another event, can he take part in both?
  12. What about Oceania quota? Is accepting it or is missing out even after its reallocation?
  13. Bulgaria could have chosen all 3 without any problem. Issue is you guys chose to select the same 2 shooters in both pistol events. Also, even after that, Bulgaria could have swapped the extra pistol quota for another quota in Rifle or Shotgun women as long as the new shooter had MQS in the event.
  14. W87+: ( will take place in top 8 but there is no more Oceania athlete remaining, after got tripartite) M67: (if quota is reallocated to next best Oceania) or (if quota is reallocated to next best NOC) M96: (no Oceania athlete remaining) P.S.: If is partially or fully banned, things may change as they have quota in both M67 and M96
  15. The shift from top lists to Rankings was driven mainly by the miracle results athletes get in obscure meets in the last few days of qualification. Hence, very high A standard and after that rankings. But, it has clearly failed because 1) still too many miracle results and 2) Pandemic resulting in many athletes not taking part in enough good competitions. I personally feel the old system, basically top lists, is simpler and better but do understand why WA moved to ranking based system.
  16. +1. My suggestion: instead of selected matches or picking medallists, have a random draw and pick any 2 sports, one per gender, only. Provided you have time for them, otherwise drop it altogether.
  17. A single contest for all team sports? or different contest for each team sport?
  18. Do we have any clarity on which spot she would be taking? American quota? World Ranking quota? Or something else?
  19. [hide] Knockout Round - Quarterfinals June 26th - July 11th, 2021 8 Nations, Winners of each Quarterfinal will qualify for the Semifinals Quarterfinals Date & Time (GMT +2, CEST) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 July 2nd 2021, h. 18:00 Switzerland 1 2 Spain July 2nd 2021, h. 21:00 Belgium 1 2 Italy July 3rd 2021, h. 18:00 Czech Republic 0 1 Denmark July 3rd 2021, h. 21:00 Ukraine 0 2 England [/hide]
  20. For we have only one hope, Neeraj Chopra in Javelin. Barring a disaster, gold is almost surely going to Vetter. Behind him, many of the top competitors haven’t participated much this year, so hard to judge. But, going by past performances, am expecting Neeraj to throw 88+ in Olympics.
  21. First players having doubles ranking in top 10 will select their teams. Then upto 24 teams will be invited based on combined ranking. If at this stage, 86 quotas per gender is reached, we go to Singles priority. Preference goes to teams which add no quota, that is both players are already qualified in singles. If the target of 31 teams (1 host quota) is not reached using only singles players, then they give preference to teams which add only one quota. For these singles priority quotas as well, teams will be invited on basis of the combined rankings. So, if Tsitsipas want to play with his brother, their combined ranking must be higher than other applicants.
  22. For Shooting: Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Choudhury Swimming: Srihari Nataraj
  23. Thats harsh. Our Men's relay team has run in the 3.02-3.03 range in foreign competitions as well.
  24. 25. And Srihari joins Sajan Prakash. He gets OQT timing in 100m backstroke.
