  1. You can check the tournaments data easily on https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/ Go to the player's profile, ranking tab. In that tab click on the rank of the category whose detail you need and you will get the full breakdown (for example click on 27 to get detail of Satwik-Ashwini ranking).
  2. A player's badminton ranking is obtained by adding the 10 best results of the player in the past 12 months. If, you take part in a competition and earn less points than your worst result already being counted, you don't earn any more points. Lets take Lakshya Sen as an example. Lakshya Sen had 39447 ranking points in Week 18 (28 April 2020). His worst record in the ranking was 1670 points from New Zealand Open. He earned 1670 points in Swiss Open. So, no improvement in ranking points. Similarly, Prannoy's worst performance is 2750 in Syed Modi, so 1670 points in Swiss Open didn't improve his ranking as well. But, Srikanth's worst performance was 2660 in French Open, and he earned 4900 points in Swiss Open, hence his ranking points improved by 2240 points.
  3. Historic quota for us. Bhavani Devi is India’s first ever Olympic fencer. Special shout out to @Prashanth for believing in Bhavani Devi and tracking her for past 4 years.
  4. From the qualification PDF: (Note: Athletes who achieve both a Continental Games qualification place and, subsequently, a Direct Acceptance ranking, will qualify using the Continental Qualification quota place) Hence, Chinese girls will take the Continental quota only. I simply don't understand why the Federations (and IOC) write such complex qualification documents. Only way, Ankita Raina can qualify through Asian quota is if both the Chinese girls are not selected for Olympics.
  5. As I said, last year All England did take place and hence, last year's tournament would count in rankings and not this year's.
  6. Yes, Swiss Open counts. There might be some more tournaments (lower level) which would count but am not sure how many tournaments are taking place. I found this list of eligible tournaments, but a number of them are already cancelled or postponed.
  7. Last year All England did take place in March and hence, this year's All England is not part of qualification rankings.

  9. Based on ranking, no. Our only hope is Sania Mirza's protected ranking, which is in top 10. So, there is a chance that she can use it to qualify a doubles team for Olympics.

  12. I can understand your shock at police agencies investigating Khalistani material. You are used to police and politicians helping them but alas, having lost a large number of people, including our Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, to the terrorist movement, we are a bit vigilant about it.
  13. For Olympics qualification rankings only 1 competition is remaining: Delhi World Cup in March. A nation can win a quota via ranking only in events where it has not won any quota. So, we are eligible only in 25m M, Trap M, Trap W and Skeet W. No chance in women events. In Trap, a number of high ranking athletes are yet to qualify and there is only 1 spot remaining at European Championship, so no chance there as well. Regarding Anish, though he is ranked highest at present, the amount of points on offer at Delhi is much larger than his point total, so if one of the chasers do finish substantially higher than Anish, he might miss out. Most likely, we will be swapping Chinki's quota for another quota. We can use Manu and Yashaswini's quota in 10m and Rahi's quota in 25m with Manu starting in both. Regarding the swap, we cannot swap across genders, so that leaves us with only 2 options: 50x3 and Shotgun events. If Anjum is selected in 10m, we don't need another quota in 50x3, as she will start alongside Tejaswini. But if Apurvi and Elavenil are selected in 10m, then most likely, we will swap Chinki's quota for second quota in 50x3. Plus, I think even if we chose Elavenil in 10m and Anjum in 50x3, if we want, we can select Anjum for the Mixed Team event.
  14. From whatever little I have been able to find about him, he is based in Germany at present and has been taking part in domestic meets.
  15. Any update on Fouaad Mirza? When is the new deadline for achieving MER?
  16. Yes, I think his focus in short term is High Jump only.
  17. Tejaswin Shanker has broken the national record for Indoor Heptathlon. This was his first international Heptathlon event. He has the potential to become a decent Decathlete.
  18. Not sure about it but I think it is Islamic months. Awwal means Best/first in Urdu. Also, Hijjah could be the month of Hijra, the journey of Mohammed from Mecca to Medina.
  19. Geography and atleast the big events of History.

  22. Honestly, I don't think vaccination of athletes is going to be bottleneck. I am sure IOC can muster 50k doses easily to vaccinate all the athletes and support staff. I think the main issues are how much of Japan is vaccinated by Olympics, qualification events and quarantine issues.
